Hi ladies,
I wanted to moreso vent. I shouldnt let this get to me anymore. Many of you may not know, my FH is 10 years older than me. We connect so well because thru things life has brought my way, I have had to mature at an earlier age. I also have older friends to the point they forget my age lol....anywho, my FH's coworkers contacted me (over speaker phone) this week to ask if I could show up to a "surprise male shower" lol (too cute) that they were going to have for him this upcoming Thursday. I said "of course." Someone in the background was having a side convo and said to someone, "shes much younger right." The other person said "yes...like 10 years younger" That same person said "what was she thinking."
If it wasnt for the fact that these were my FH coworkers, I would have reached thru the phone and chocked the lady...lol....not really, but I sure envisioned it in my brain.
Anywho, any other WBC brides are marrying older men and have u received slick comments? At this point, it shouldnt really bother me, but I think I am just on edge right now...lol...with having so much to do and so little time.
Don't pay anyone any mind....... age means absolutely nothing!!
I was more worried about my family's reaction, but no one in my family can complain (thankfully!) since my parents have a 12 year difference.
Matt's mom is married to a man 19 years her junior and they are such a wonderful couple and they are connected and lovely! I adore them and their marriage.
Don't take it to heart..there probably mad there not the one getting married to a great man!(wink)
If I were you, I'd go on Thursday and say, "I'd just like to say a few words... First, thank you all for being so wonderful to my incredible fiance, ___________. Secondly, for the person who asked in the background the other day "what I was thinking, since I'm 10 years younger than him".... I'm thinking he is the most incredible, intelligent, sensitive, sexy, smart, honest, and beautiful man I've ever met and THAT is why I'm marrying him. Thank you again, for your support!" :)
She'll shit her pants or turn red. :)
@Tasha, I know girl. I absolutely shouldnt let what people say bother me. I am so over her comment and plan on strutting my stuff come Thursday. Age doesnt matter, like everyone says. I am about to marry a wonderful man!
@Candyan, Ur are sooo right! Thanks for that reminder girl!!!
S/N: Co-workers are probably uneasy with the fact that they are not as smooth to pull a young one. LOL
Your WBC Sister!!!!!!
