My FH is six year older than me, I haven't receievd anyone saying anything crazy to me. cause I guess we don't discuss his age with anyone. Everyone be more worried about what kinda work he do, and what does he feel about my son Jaylen. My parents didnt have a problem as they cant say anything cause my dad is 15 years senior to my mom. Girl pay them no mind they just wish they had what you have. (They probably older and got some no good man or no man at all.)

i married a man that is 8 years older than me and the first thing everyone asked when i told them how old he is was, "how old are you" like they thought he was doing some child and was a pervert. than they look even more shocked when i tell them i'm 18 and they go on to say crap like "why would you want to get married?" "you're too young to get married, live a little." and i agree, that it's so freaking annoying. but dont let it get to you.

My FH is almost 8 years older. He is 38 and im almost 31. I see nothing wrong with it. I have never heard any comments on our age difference. Don't worry about what others say they are just jealous :)

my FH is twelve years my senior and has two sons, so i still get strange looks and comments from people who do not know us. The age has never been an issue for us because we are just so alike and get on so well, but my mother was soooo not happy when we first got together and she found out his age and about his two boys. At the end of the day as long as you are both happy you shouldn't care what other people think, it just hurts to hear it sometimes but let it go over your head and enjoy yourselves.

Actually we're in the opposite situation. I am 8 years older than my FH. He is only 12 years older than my oldest daughter. Sometimes I myself laugh that when I was giving birth to my first daughter he was only 12 years old!! In the beginning we got a bit of slack from people but not too much really.
Don't pay anyone any mind....... age means absolutely nothing!!

My FH is 11 1/2 years older than me! We started dating when I was 18 and he was 29 so back then people said more than they do now. Some people that dont know us are shocked over the age difference but most people who know us say that our mental ages meet and that we are perfect together =)

Wow, that's cool! My first marriage was with an older man, but he was 5 years older than me. It was strange, he was not as mature as I was? Now my hubby by second marriage is my same age. We are on the same level on a lot more things? Weird, huh? Nothing wrong with it though. I guess, it's just based on their raising and upbringing.

I think there will always be haters not matter what... people give me a hard time because my FH is only 1 year younger than me.... but I hear ya - I would have wanted to choke that lady too!!!!..lol

Yup he's older. I'm a fabulous 31 yr old and he's a stunning 40 yr old MAN! Love it!

My FH is10 years older then me. I accepted the fact very early on that some narrow-minded people might judge our decision to be together, but that was because they really have no way to understand how well we understand one another. Just chock it up to their inexperience with you as a couple. They'll learn. :)
I was more worried about my family's reaction, but no one in my family can complain (thankfully!) since my parents have a 12 year difference.

I didn't marry an older man, but I dated someone 9 years my senior and we dated for 5 years and we had a great relationship during that time and soemtimes people talked but I don't receive nonsense. Now Matt is 3 years younger. It all just doesn't matter and don't let it get to you. People are haters and crazy and if they are miserable then they will find anything and everything to say. You guys are a beautiful couple and they are stupid little girls that are bored at work. :)

Matt's mom is married to a man 19 years her junior and they are such a wonderful couple and they are connected and lovely! I adore them and their marriage.

Chris and I are exactly the same age but I did get bad looks for a little while because while he was finishing up his undergrad, I was working on my PhD. Everyone thought that I was dating some kid with their looks of horror. I just totally laughed it off.

Victoria I would never date a man younger than me. Most men younger are immature(no offense tot he WBC brides dating/engaged to a younger man). Ike is 5 years older than me. By the time our wedding comes around I will be 34 and Isaac will be 39.
Don't take it to heart..there probably mad there not the one getting married to a great man!(wink)

So true....people may just be jealous. Not going to let that borrow me. I always forget about our age and so does he. We are perfect for one another and thats all that matters. It was nice reading othr WBC brides experiences with their FH or previous relationships in the past .Absolutely makes me feel much better. Thanks to all for the comments and words of encouragement. My current FH is only 4 yrs older than me, but my long time bf before my FH was 11 yrs older than me. I see absolutely nothing wrong with it! Just live your life girl, when you're confident and put your nose up to bitchy comments from morons like that. they begin to realize it's none of their business.

Oh boy girl, don't let what other ppl say get to you on here, but that was rude as heck. I think pytnda850 is right, they want what you have.. It's about the person, not the age or culture or anything. People will always talk, hate and just have issues with how you live your life, but remember, it is your life. You def don't need their approval or opinions. I like the saying that "People's advice is usually worth what you pay for it" If you paid nothing to them for their opinion, then that's what it's worth and don't even sweat it. I didn't get issues cuz of Mark's age, but I got comments on his career, culture, etc. I really could not care less. He is the best man I know, the love of my life and one of my very best friends. :)

People talked about Jesus. Focus on building and nurturing your relationship with the man that God designated as your life partner. Age DOES NOT matter.

My hubby is 9 years older than I am and he'd DIE if I called him an "older man"...lol. The great thing is he looks a lot younger than he really is. So, if there were any slick comments made, they were done behind my back, not to my face.

Don't let it bother you chica. My FH is 8 years older then me. He has had his share of game playing, and knows how to appreciate a real women. He has reached that level of MATURITY. That is what we are seeking right, besdes age is nothing but a number. I feel as long as the two of you are on one accord and enjoy each other, then its all good. Continue with your planning, and enjoy your last 10 days before you become MRS.

My fh is like 8 years older then me.. look much older then his age and i look younger then mine.. he has been mistaken for my dad! sometimes it gets annoying when people say stuff... but at the end of the day! he is what makes me happy!!! and god put him in my life a for a reason! ignore the rest of the people!
