To my parents,
#1- A framed photo of me and my fiance in the native attire. I love how he embraces my culture so much. It was his idea to provide them this.
#2- I created a FAMILY geneolgy tree which has never been done for my family on either side. This was a doozie. As u can see, the design was inspired by several WBC brides here who are using this as their guestbook. I bought the green stamp pads too and made them the leaves. My initial intent was to make each leaf a different member but this task started to become to tedious as there are cousins I have never met before, let alone those cousins kids! Ahhhh! So, I had to come to a stop. My parents names meet at the bottom (my dads family is on the left, moms on the right. The base is the grandparents from both sides. The scripture at the bottom reads "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
To Jermaine's mom, a painting of women dancing. I was inspired by another canvas painter who had African women cooking. I wanted them to be dancing as in "Celebrating!" Everytime she sees this, she will remember my familys background.
What do u all think? Sorry for the delay in posting these. These have been ungoing projects I finally wrapped up (because I kinda have no choice!) LOL
Your parents gifts are perfect too, they will adore them. Amazing, thoughtful and so creative. The picture of you and Jermaine will bring them to tears. It's beautiful.
Love the picture.
