This is my first inspiration board. I'm hoping it will finally help me with my color scheme since what I would like I couldn't relly picture. I originally wanted Royal or Cobalt Blue dresses because I think all my girls will look good in them and bright pink and orange flowers to create a springy feel. This is what the board looks like. I might do another one with pink and green flowers to see which I like better.

Okay, I have almost officially booked our site. I love it as long as it doesn't rain so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's like a clubhouse and the ceremony, pictures, cocktail hour and reception will all be at this one place. Guests will be moving from one area to another though to have a little change of scenery until the reception. The ceremony will be outside in their ampotheater which is beautiful as long as it doesn't rain.

So, I just ordered this garter. Steve will LOVE it but I'm not telling him until he takes it off. I think it's soooo cute! He's a HUGE Reskins fan.

UPDATE: I got these in the mail yesterday and they look awesome! I tried to hide them from my FH and hope he doesn't find them!

I love this picture of a candy buffet that someone had posted (I forget who...sorry!). And, since my dresse are going to most likely be royal or cobalt blue, I'd like my accent colors to probably be fuschia and green to brighten up the wedding and make it look springy.

Since my wedding ceremony will be outdoors I wanted some sort of decorations to make it actually look like a wedding ceremony. I'm thinking of lining the aisles with white or off white rose petals instead of an aisle runner because I don't want to trip on it and I'm sure I would. I also like the idea of having shepherd's hooks at every, or at least every other row of seats with maybe buckets of flowers hanging from them. I'd also probably have pedestal stands with flower arrangements on top either at the alter area where we'd be standing or at the front of the aisle. Just some ideas for ceremony decorations that I don't want to forget about.

So, once again my bridesmaids and I visited the boutique where we purchased my dress and to show other BMs who hadn't seen the dress we liked our choice or to possibly look at other options. Well, we ended up changing the dress yet again! I can't believe choosing BM dresses has been more stressful to me than my own dress which I picked out in 5 minutes. So, we are now going with this dress in Royal Blue. I don't like the bow though so we're going to have that removed. They don't have the picture on the website in Royal Blue but the owner of the boutique assures me that they can still do it. Here's hoping!

So, we are either not going to have a ring bearer or we could use Steve's nephwe but he's 10 and will be almost 11 by the time of our wedding. How old is too old for a ring bearer? I don't want him to look or feel out of place. I always picture ring bearers to be like 5 or somewhere around there. Thoughts??

Here's a picture of my flower girls. They are my neices and soooo freaking cute! We actually are not having a ring bearer as of now because we don't have any boys that are young enough to take on the role.

So, I actually got my wedding dress 2 days ago but didn't ahve time to post about it. This dress was the first one that I found that I liked on the internet and the same one that I talked about in a previous post. I went on a spur of the moment trip to a Bridal Store in Fairfax to see it in person. I had made an appointment for August 9th to go see it with anyone that wanted to come but they had told me that there was a risk of someone buying it off the rack before then. So, I decided to stop by with two of my bridesmaids. The dress taht they had was in light gold which I didn't want but I still had an idea of what it would look like and I LOVED IT!!! I was so happy to have found my dress right away with no problems. So, I ordered it and now the wait begins. They told me that it would take 4-5 months to get in and then I'll have to get my alterations. Oh, and I ordered it in white. I'm so excited to get it!!!!

So, I went to Bobbie's Bridal in Fairfax to try on my dress and two of my bridesmaids met me there. One of them tried on the BM dress that I liked in the previous posting but it didn't look right for my girls. They picked a bunch of others to try and the only one that I really liked was this one in Cobalt Blue. The color is a little bright on the website and I don't think it's that bright in person so I'm going to see what they all think of it. Any opinions on this dress versus the previously posted dress are greatly appreciated!

So, I'm really confused about the Groomsmen tux color and I can't remember how other people have done it at weddings I have gone to. If I picked Cobalt Blue for my bridesmaid dresses or even Blue Jay (my two fave colors for the dresses I picked), how do you match them up with the groomsmen? My accent colors that I think I like are in the picture to the left, bright pink and orange but the boys will not wear pink and I can't see them wearing orange but I also don't think I'll be able ot find the same shade of blue for their tuxes. What do I do? Go with a neutral color like silver or something? I just don't want to add in ANOTHER color. I'm stuck! Any ideas are more than welcome...

I don't want to post a picture but I will say that I love, love, LOVE the dress that I found. It is also an Alfred Angelo dress (just like the bridesmaids dresses) and it is totally me. I haven't seen it in person yet but I'm sure I'll love it when I do.

All of my girls like this dress so that was an easy decision. The hard part is choosing the color that will go well with bright flowers for spring and other decorations for the ceremony and reception. I think I like the Cobalt color though. I also like Blue Jay but I don't think the dress has to be light or pastel if it is a spring wedding. Anyway, these are the colors that I would consider. Again, I think Cobalt is my favortie. It would make bright pink flowers pop!

Picking bridesmaids was a challenge. I ended up stressing out about it and finally decided that when I included all of my girls, I wasn't stressed anymore so that's what I did. Here's the lineup...

Steve proposed to me on 6.27.08 (the day before my brithday). He was very cute about it and seemed very nervous. When I got home from work that day I was ready for my birthday weekend to begin. I walked in the door and he asked if I wanted an early brithday present. I asked him why he got me something since he had already gotten a limo and Dave Matthews Band tickets for the next day and he had sent me 2 dozen roses to my office AND he had paid for me to get my hair done. Anyway, he said it was just something small and went back into our bedroom to get it. He told me to sit down on the couch, pulled out the box and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I, in shock, yelled. "Shut up!" and he said, "Is that a yes?" And, I said, "Yes!" And, that was teh beginning of a night of phone calls and celebration drinks and the BEST birthday weekend ever!
