Chocolate DINNER Can I only serve one meat?

DINNER
Can I only serve one meat?

Is it rude to only have 1 meat option available? I am having a sit-down meal and would really only like to have 1 meat served--obviously have a vegetarian option available also for a few folks--
Also, which is more prefered do you think--chicken or roast beef?(well those are my 2 faves anyways haha)
Get your votes in LOL :) Thanks

i honestly believe you can do whatever YOU want since its your day!! and ive researched tons of "proper" etiquette rules, dont think i have ever read anything about it being rude to only have one meat tho. and since you have the vegetarian option too, you should be fine!!  as far as chicken vs beef? i personally love chicken.......and, i have actually heard that there are quite a few people who may not be vegetarians, but wont eat red meat....so id go with chicken, but again, YOUR day, YOUR decision----i really hope nobody on ur guest list would see the invite and go "omg, shes only serving one meat, im SO not going!!" lol good luck hun!!

I agree, it is your wedding and you can do what you like!! I wouldn't say its rude...but we just went through the same dilemma. We changed reception venues and it was more expensive than our last venue and thats where we were looking to cut costs because it would save almost $1000. But in the end they lowered their dinner cost by a buck and we decided two options was the route for us to go with a buffet style and with having so many people. Just make if fit to your budget and day hun!

Nothing wrong with just one meat. I originally was going to have only roast beef....but since my parents are paying for the meal, they wanted to have two options. But I don't think there is anything wrong with it. A wedding I just attended in July, only served prime rib with no other meat option.

I was afraid of that.... so I went with Chicken Penne Alfredo, and Italian Sausage and Peppers. So now the men can have their meat, and eat it too. lol.

You can do whatever you want. Usually two meats are offered. Sometimes 3 even. If you have the option of going with two, you may be safer. It is your wedding, yes, but please remember, people will remember your wedding and talk about it later.

It shouldn't really matter.  They're lucky it's not just cake and punch!
