Ask a Question
How far in advance should a honeymoon be booked?

How far in advance should a honeymoon be booked? I am sure it depends on certain things, but here is my situation:

I am applying to nursing school at the end of May when the spring 2009 semester is over. The application is for the following year in which they accept people into 4 groups (if I am accepted). I assume they tell everyone who is accepted for the year at the same time and I'm guessing they will probably tell you if you are accepted sometime by the end of June or in July sometime. There is a group that starts in August, October, January, and March. We are getting married in September. Now, I could wait until I find out if I am accepted/what group I am accepted to, and THEN book it, or we could just plan on taking our honeymoon in December/January when I should have Christmas break and be able to plan for it earlier than that summer. If I waited until I found out about the nursing school and we tried to take our honeymoon at the end of September, would that be pushing it as far as booking a vacation? Would my better bet be to just wait until December/January regardless of whether I am accepted or not?

Sorry if that was kind of confusing...

I think you should definately plan the honeymoon around your school schedule but when?  you are exactly right, i dont think you would be pushing it to take it at the end of September, you have to do what is best for you........  hey, I have a question, this post has pink lettering right, how do you do that? change the coloring when you make a post on your blog?

You want to book it about 4-6 months in advance. Anything later and you will pay more for tickets and hotel. It also depends where you're going and where eyou want to stay. Some hotels  book fast. Some places are not great to go to in certain seasons.

Have you thought about having a mini Honeymoon right after the wedding and then book something later for like December/January when you are on break?

I am going to check on the weather in the places. We were thinking of Ireland or New Zealand. I really want to go to a cool country and my FH suggested those. Before that we were thinking Sandals, which isn't crossed off the list. But I told him he had to think of whether he wants to be really relaxing on our honeymoon or if he wants to do tourist type things. I think if we did a mini (maybe a weekend) trip somewhere relaxing then doing tourist things in December/January wouldn't be a big deal. We probably will plan the big trip for December/January though. Thanks for the advice!

Divadan, to change font colors on your blog, place

Here is the site I get my colors from: http://vegsource.com/html/colors.htm

the code has no spaces except for between "font" and "color" and make sure you put the # symbol before the font color code.

I'd like to know the color code also - I bookmarked the website with the actual codes for each color but what's the html to insert that color code?

Whoops, I thought my above post had the code. Well, in order to do font colors, place < font color >="#insert color code" in front of the text, and at the end of the text, place < / font >

Only when you put in the code, you do not use spaces. Well I put spaces between the words "font" and "color" in the first part of the code, but I am not sure if it makes a difference if you put a space in there or not.

Oh, and make sure you put the # symbol where I have it in the html code. I tried doing them without the number symbol, and it didn't work. Either that or the html color code chart was not working for me. But I use the # symbol and it works.

Also, if you want to see more ways to make your blog pretty, look at one of my favorite posts which is called Spicing Up The Blog. It shows you how to do all that stuff.
