Bridesmaids
It doesn't get any cheaper than...TARGET!!!
To keep the wedding small, I am only having two bridesmaids. My cousin and best friend Andrea as my MOH and my fiance's sister Angela. Being married before I have learned that friends come and go and family is forever!
I knew I wanted hot pink as one of my colors with it being my favorite color. So I searched for a dress that would compliment it. I was driving through a small town and passed a bridal boutique, they had a plain black dress in the window with a hot pink sash around the waist. The colors looked amazing together! That was it! To keep the cost down I searched for a simple black summer dress online and found this one on Target.com for......$30!!! I am buying wide pink ribbon to tie around the waist. It doesn't get any cheaper than that!!!!! |

Gerbera Daisy Cake
Ok....I think I have decided to go with the silver monogram for the cake topper and have the flowers around that and cascading down the cake. Awesome!!
I absolutley love this cake! The flowers, the ribbon, it being three tiers. The only thing I would add is the swirly design from the other cake. It's perfect!!!! Now that I know what I want, it's time to go bakery hunting! |

The Proposal
Back where it all began....
To undestand the sweetness of our engagment you have to know how it all began. I met Charlie 12 years ago during my high school senior trip to Myrtle Beach. He was in college and out for the summer. We were cruisng the Blvd like most teenagers do. In passing we caught eyes. He ended up behind us in traffic and asked me to ride with him. Thinking back and having two daughters now, I didn't realize how dangerous and stupid I was. I jumped out of my friends jeep and got in his car. We got a bite to eat and sat on the beach until the sun came up. Conversation flowed so easily we lost track of time. I had never met anyone so amazing! I went back to VA and he eventually went back to college at SC. We kept in touch through the summer and saw each other a couple of times. We ended up going our seperate ways. I went back to my ex bf that I ended up marrying. But often thought about Charlie through the years and the connections we shared. Not knowing he did the same.
Nine years later my husband and I seperated. Friends of mine convinced me in to getting a Myspace. I sat and searched old friends I hadn't seen in years, Charlie being one of them. Sure enough he was on there! I waited a week before emailing him since his profile said he was married and I wasn't sure if I should just say hi. When I did, he responded telling me he had been seperated for 6 months. We emailed back and forth and exchanged phone numbers. When we spoke on the phone the first time after so many years it was if time hadn't passed and we picked up where we left off. I eventually made a trip to SC and from that point on we have been together....doing the long distance relationship! THE ENGAGEMENT.......On Memorial Day weekend we took a trip with his family to Myrtle Beach . It was the first time we had been there together since the night we first met. After a nice dinner with his family he took me back to the exact same steps we sat on the night we met. We cuddled and reminisced for old times sake. Never realizing this was the night! He stood up, pulled a box out of his pocket and got down one knee. I started to cry. He asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes. The funny part is, in the midst of all of this he never opened the box. He could have had bubble gum ring in there and I still would have said YES! The reason I told this lengthy story is I once never believed in fate or destiny. Stories like ours only happened in the movies or... "Notebooks." Now I know that there IS such things and timing IS everything,. God is just in the driver seat. |
