I made this out of silk carnations. It was pretty easy to make. I really don't like silk flowers, but I really wanted to make something for the head table. I think it turned out ok!

I think this looks just as good as with the real carnations.

GIRL! That looks FABO! I love it. I've been thinking about this for a while and I was debating about silk flowers cuz like you I don't like fake flowers but this looks great. I had a blog about this same thing about a month ago and you just totally helped me make up my mind. Do you mind sharing what you used to stick the flowers in?

I just bought one of those green flower foam things. I don't know what they are called :) It was extremely easy to cut out. Then I just pulled the flowers off of the stem and used a hot glue gun. It took a lot of flowers. I had to go to 4 different stores to get the flowers. It is impossible to find what you need here in Wyoming. I wanted to use all pink flowers, but the stores didn't have enough, so I had to buy some white ones. I wanted it to look like real petals, so I used a lot and stuck them close by eachother. It was quite simple and fun! THANKS for all of your comments. It makes me feel better!!!

Thanks. I think it worked toward your advantage that the stores didn't have enough pink flowers because the white outline is so pretty. This is one of the cutest DYI I've seen.
