My fiance and I are actually writing our own vows, and he's really the one who initally suggested the idea, so I was glad. Another idea that would be nice and personal, but wouldn't be as much pressure is to each write a paragraph about why you love the other person/why you want to marry that person, and have your officiant read an exerpt from each paragraph. then you could go into the more tradiational recite/repeat vows. Our officiant said this is something he likes to do with couples because it shares something personal, but isn't necessarily both of you reading entire vows to each other. What do you think?
