The Proposal

4th of July, 2008

Greg's proposal was one of the most amazing nights of my life- and thank goodness Greg's stepdad was there to capture it all on film!  Our kids will be able to someday see the way it all went down.

In a nutshell:  it was our Fourth of July celebration with Greg's family- his wonderful, beautiful mother, hilarious stepdad, and beautiful and sweet little sister Olivia.  It is SO meaningful that Greg incorporated my "new" family, as my family was seven hours away from where we lived at the time.  We were out on the beautiful back deck, and had just finished grilling out.  Greg's mom served us amazing strawberry pie from Bob Evans (you HAVE to try it!), and it was dark.  The twinkle lights set a beautiful scene, and I was thinking about the fireworks that would be going off in the neighborhood.  I was TOTALLY surprised when Greg got down on one knee, made his speech, and slipped the ring on my finger.  I spent the rest of the night drinking celebratory wine, calling friends and family, and of course I made Greg stop on the way home to pick up bridal mags!

Greg and I have only dated for 6 months, but he has already become my best friend and life partner- as well as work out partner and road trip buddy... The list goes on and on!
I feel so blessed to be starting on this journey with him by my side, and honored to share our love with so many great friends and family members at our wedding next summer.
