Our Wedding Ceremony
June 19th, 2010
I couldn't have asked for anything better.
Well, that's a lie - it could have been a tad bit cooler! At one point, I was so hot I was dizzy.. Patrick kept squeezing my hand to make sure I wasn't going to pass out.. and another family member said at one point she thought I was going to faint.. how romantic {tehehehe} Thankfully I had done those DIY water bottles, because my guests needed it. Some of them even got sunburned from standing outside for too long... The ceremony was about 20-25 minutes long and perfect. It happened so fast though - I think I just managed to blink and it was over. It was really emotional for me, but I didn't cry.. I shed a tear or two, but that's good. And for all those that know me, that's impressive! I absolutely adore the last shot I posted.. us, walking down the aisle, staring at eachother with the biggest smiles.. sigh... it's amazing how a photo can capture so much emotion. <3 |

DIY Wedding
All my little touches :)
Hi ladies,
WOW!! I have been gone for over a month and so many of you went off to get married. I can't wait to catch up on all your wedding recaps! In the meantime, I thought that I would continue with mine... It's hard to believe that I've been married now over two months. Just like the time leading up to the wedding, time after the wedding flies. Throughout wedding planning, DIY projects and I had a love/hate relationship. I would find a new DIY project weekly and I think that my mother-in-law and my MOH started to think I was going crazy. Anyhow, everything turned out wonderfully. Did my guests notice them all - probably not. Did they notice most thinks - most definitely. I had many people come up to me at the wedding, and even afterwards and told me how creative I was and how they loved all the small touches. YAY |

sparrack's recap... BRIDAL PORTRAITS
Doing bridal portraits were a bit overwhelming.
I literally had about 1 million photos taken of just me. This was REALLY out of the ordinary because I dont really appreciate photos with just one person I have always felt really awkward in photos by myself always tugging and grabbing someone to smile with me. Anyways, all the photos paid off because our photographer produced some beautiful photos of yours truly. Thought Id start my re-cap off with some of my favourites! By the end of it, I was so cranky. Our photographers said.. Just one more shot I let them continue to snap and then realized I was just over it and we stopped. There were so many flashes and smiles my mouth hurt. (plus all the kissing that happened after the ceremony!) |

Wedding Rehearsals -
a MUST do..
Two days before our wedding we rehearsed. Practice makes perfect.. my mother always said.
Before our rehearsal, I always thought of this tradition as a funny one. However, after doing one, I have changed my position. Rehearsals are absolutely necessary. They help you feel more at ease because you know that everyone else knows whats going to happen on the big day. It also gives you the opportunity to sort things out with people who thought the day was going to go a different way than you had planned. I had my day of coordinator there and she was wonderful soaking up all the details that I had to remember, but would probably forget due to stress, excitement, nervousness If youre thinking of not having a rehearsal Id strongly recommend changing your mind. For your own sanity! The run through was actually really fun - I was nervous! Patrick was smiling at me the whole time saying, Would you stop being so nervous! Here are a few photos of the rehearsal: Patrick with our fathers ![]() And after we were announced at hubby and wifey.. I joked that I was going to do the fist pump at the real deal, but no one thought it was as funny as I did. ![]() After the rehearsal, we headed to a local Italian restaurant.. yummy! I decided to do a grooms cake at the rehearsal and not at the wedding reception because I thought that it would actually get eaten which it did! For the groom cake, I chose to do a mountie uniform. Hubby is a RCMP officer and really wanted to wear his red serge at the ceremony but I would not have it (red clashes with pink big time!! Lol) so I surprised him and incorporated it into our day in a different way. He was not expecting it at all and loved it. Us, at dinner. ![]() ![]() Do you plan on doing a grooms cake? If so, what are you doing? |

They posted a teaser! I am in love.
I set off today on my journey to my new home with my dad. We are driving approximately 42 hours to get to my new home in British Columbia. I originally thought that we were travelling through Canada but my Dad had planned to travel through the states. We have travelled all over Michigan today and I am in love with Northern Michigan. Its so beautiful up here so many trees/lakes. Its heaven!
So after driving for 13 hours straight, and even entering another time zone, we decided to pull in for the night and get an early start tomorrow morning. To my surprise, I came across this beautiful photo that my photographer posted and I HAD to share them with you ladies! I know I said I wouldnt blog until I was settled into our new home but I couldnt resist. I am in love and cannot stop smiling! ![]() |

CHEERS!
Wedding Weekend Begins... NOW :)
hello all you wonderful women.
I can't believe that the time has finally come. I have waited for this day my entire life. I have had so much fun planning our wedding over the last year and can't believe it when I see "2 days to wedding" on the side bar. I remember when it was 300 something.. insanity. Wedding weekend officially begins. Starting with a sleepover with my best friend tonight (while the boys go out and play... aka patrick's bachelor party), a busy day tomorrow, including our rehearsal dinner, friday is a day of pampering and finally, wedding day! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. So excited! I can't tell you how stressful this week has been - well, not stressful.. just busy. So many details have been flying around in my head. I don't know how I have been sleeping at night. But the week is ending and I've made it through, so you will too. :) I picked up my baby from the airport on Monday and I can't believe that we're finally together and never ever do we have to be apart. For all the ladies in long distant relationships, let me tell you, it's all worth it in the end. My wedding weekend is here.. which means I'm signing off and will return a MARRIED woman. We are leaving for our honeymoon the day after the wedding, and then I am moving after I get back.. so I won't be around for awhile. Thanks everyone for your support, advice and kind comments over the last year. See you on the flip side, as a MRS! :) |

Bachelorette Party Fun
My last weekend as a "miss" .. :)
The girls outdid themselves last night.
I had so much fun at my bachelorette party. The night started with some yummy appetizers and gifts. ![]() The girls surprised me with a limo and off to dinner we went. {with a stop or two for pictures!} ![]() We went to a place called Martinis it was a steakhouse with over 100 martinis to choose from! I got one that tasted like swedish berries.. yummy. ![]() After that, we were off to a bar, where the girls had organized bottle service for us for the night.. We drank and danced the night away. I may have danced so much that I broke my dress while getting low .. hehehehe. ![]() It was so great to have all my friends (highschool, university, grad school) together I have the most kind, supportive and beautiful friends a girl could ask for. ![]() |

Nerves.
Freaking out a bit...
Ten days.
Guess whos here? Nerves. Hello Nerves. Im not stressed, but I feel very nervous. For some, these may be similar emotions, but for me, they are quite different. I am nervous about getting a job. I am nervous about all these little details coming together. I am nervous that I am forgetting something major. I am nervous that its going to rain. In fact, I have been quite psychotic when it comes to the weather. Confession: I have been googling the long range forecast for the past six months. And now that the 14 day forecast is up I check it multiple time a day.. ah nerves. So far so good, weather wise. ![]() I think tomorrow I will go to the gym, work out and then sit in the sauna for a good while. Try to tame these nerves. How is everyone else feelings these days? |
