This is sparx1278's Black Wedding!

So our daughter is going to turn one on January 14th... so excited! This year we dont really know what to get her so she probably wont get much. But we have been looking at playhouses for her for the summer or maybe her second birthday. Her Daddy wants to build it for her... only I cant decide which one I like the best. We also kind of thought if he finished it before the wedding (since it is outside) we might set it up at our venue. There will be a few small children and I think it would be super cute to get some pictures of the kids playing in it, not to mention it would keep them all occupied. Let me know which one you like!?

So the original dress I decided on for my daughter is no longer available. I wait too long to decide and then its gone. So now we must start over. I know I want her to wear mostly black with touches of white. And here are a few that I have narrowed it down to.

I am leaning more towards numbers one and three. And as for the last one it doesnt really fit our wedding but it is super cute and it really fits our daughter!

Yes ladies it means I get married THIS year! As do most of you. I dont know it just makes things seem so much closer! Is anyone as excited as I am!?

Look at this oh-so-perfect “Kissing Tree.” As an alternative to the clinking of glasses, the guests approach the tree and pluck off a matchbook. The MC then reads aloud what they have to do to have the bride and groom kiss. Things like answering bride and groom trivia, singing a love song with your table and preforming a charade of a “wedding” movie…

To Make the Kissing Tree…
Insert tall, sturdy branches into the base of a vase (using the green styrofoam). Hang matchbooks that have been adorned with fun tasks, to each of the branches. Make sure to only have about 25 matchbooks on the tree so that the game doesn’t get boring or redundant. And, make sure to prep your dj ahead of time so that he understands his job!

In a previous post everyone heard me rant about not closing on my house... well we actually closed a few days before my birthday. As exciting as that is we havent been able to move in due to renovations (also why I havent been on WBC recently.) We are getting pretty close to being finished. Anyway. We decided to spend the night in our new house Christmas Eve. Watched movied, ate pizza, played with our daughter, and we all slept together as a family. Really very sweet. Anyway we all woke up together to see what Santa brought.. for my daughter she a baby doll, a radio, some bath toys, and some other odds and ends, But her big gift from Santa was her first car! Its so cute. It came with a bar in the back so that I can drive her around until she can figure out how to use it... so it took 5 minutes and she figured it out. Good thing we have all hardwood floors through out our house! Santa brought me a CRICUT expressions... Thats the good one! I also got a Kitchen Aid Mixer... so excited. And a vintage cocktail ring passed down from my future MIL passed from her MIL. It was a very sweet thought... The future hubby got snowboard equiptment, a grill, an MP 3 player, and I dont even remember what else. Anyway it was a great couple of days for our family and hopefully we will be finished with the renovations soon so I can post some before and after pictures. Hope everyone else had as wonderful a Christmas as we did!

So this is my first attempt at my bouquet. It didnt turn out too bad. I followed the video on my page and it was really easy! I didnt at the stargazers (picture 4) because they dont sell them at the grocery store but I dont think it will be hard to add them. I only used 16 roses, which I will use more the day of but didnt feel like spending a fortune on roses that day. Picture 5 is what the maids will be carrying and is basically what I made here. But as far as for my bouquet what do you think? Should I add anything (other than the stargazers)?

This is our finished cake topper. Of course it isnt perfect, but its the best I could do. It works for us! I ordered the letters from factory craft direct ( be careful they charge extra if your order is under $20). I was able to get free shipping so it didnt matter to me. I bought the rhinestones 3mm at Michaels in clear, jet, and fuschia. I used the 6000 craft glue to glue them on.

Not that anyone here cares but Im going to tell it anyway... So my birthday was on November 18th and it kind of sucked. I started out by having a doctors appointment with my female doctor for what I thought was an infection... good news no infection just a clogged duct... bad news waste of a good hours drive and Im still in pain. My Mom called and informed me she got into an accident going to get cake and balloons... which sucks but she is ok. It was a scratch! Then my Dad calls and wants to know what my plans are for the evening and I didnt have any because no one gave me the heads up so before my Dad even shows up to visit my future MIL calls and says she will be at my house in 45 min to pick up my daughter... ok whatever. Everything turned out ok but I just dont like people telling me what Im going to do. Anyway Neal took me out for dinner and drinks at Taco Mac andsurprised me with my best friend (my MOH) who lives about 4 hours away. So between my future hubby and my best friend I ended up having a pretty good birthday.

Ok so today I decided to order my bra and panties for under my dress since my fitting is coming up soon and this was what I ordered. The strapless bustier in white, the white and pink panties (matches my garter and my shoes!), and the lipgloss (just because.) With shipping and handling and taxes my total came to like $181 and some change... well I started looking around and found some codes to try and they worked! So we have all seen them. They are sparklers! I recently got to thinking about the fact that we are having a late evening wedding and the butterflies I wanted people to release wouldnt really be seen due to the fact that by the time we leave it will be dark. So I thought about going with the sparklers. I want to have two tables set out with vases full of sparklers with fuschia, black, and white ribbons tied on the bottom. I also want to have a couple of the barrel matches in the fuschia set out so people can light them. I think it is the cutest idea... not to mention it costs less than half the price of the butterflies!

I have created a mixed tape of songs we want played at our ceremony and reception. We are a very contemporary couple and didnt want to go with the norm. So here they are!

Ok so I love my life as a Mommy and a soon to be wife, but Im so overwhelmed! I am a stay at home Mom to our 9 month old daughter Cayden. I also am in school (online classes only.. thank God) to join the medical field. Transcripting actually... something I can do from home. My future Hubby and I are in the process of buying our first home. It is extremely exciting, but also as you guessed overwhelming. Because of the crappy market the seller and our bank are forcing us to jump through hoops. I am always running errands going to papers signed, meeting with inspecters, meeting with the agent... We should have closed on the house back in September... well the seller didnt have the deed to the house prepared. Then we should closed the 26th of October... but the bank needed us to have the house reinspected in order to grant us the loan and the seller had a piece of paper that had to be signed in 3 places... they signed it in 1. So we are supposed to close today... which I am sitting here typing this instead of sitting at table signing papers and waiting for my keys... Now I have no idea when we close. But I had wanted to finalize most of our wedding plans before we closed on the house because we wanted to upgrade. We wanted to paint and lay new floors and ugrading the kitchen. Unfortunately I didnt realize how involved this wedding planning would be. Thought I had most of it figured out and now I realize I dont. I spend a lot of time on the phone trying to find the best deal on photographers (since my photographer backed out) and caterers and everything else. Just add changing diapers, writing papers, laundry, housekeeping, and storytime to the mix and that is my life. Like I said love it but exhausting.... Cant wait for my life to slow down so I can enjoy it....Mommy needs a nap!

I found my garter at garters by kristi on ebay. I payed $21.95 for both and she threw in the cutest little garter charm. So in love!

I know I want the suits in all black and white but with a few rules... the suit has to be BLACK not white, second no penguin tails or whatever... and third no ascot! So this is about what is left as far as style. Love them all just not sure which one to go with?

So I changed my mind on the bridemaids dresses. I love the style of this Dessy dress. Obviously still in black and white just a more classic look. Not to mention my girls will get them for half off!

Here are my most recent projects... my flower basket and ring pillow. Ok so I was at Hobby Lobby during their 50% off bridal sale and bought a plain pillow and basket for $10 a piece! But I knew I didnt like them the way they were so I also bought the damask ribbon and a black satin ribbon. All for like $25. I ripped off the plain white bows and wrapped the black satin around the handle of the flower basket and hot glued it into place then tied my damask ribbon into bows... very hard to do btw because it is only one sided... and hot glued it on the sides. Pretty much did the same with the pillow. Had my Mom sew the satin on the the pillows and cut one big bow. I did keep the ring ties from the original set up and hot glued that down before gluing the bow down. And thats it! Totally original!

Are there any Georgia Peaches out there? I am looking for Georgia brides.... Atlanta.... Athens... whatever. Where are the Ga brides taking dance lessons or what bakery or caterer are you using? I also just want to know if there are any other Ga brides... or am I lonely?

Ok so I saw this post on thirty3thirtys blog and I love the idea. I couldnt find anything for my something blue since I have a pink garter, and a white thong, and intend on going with a french manicure on my toes so when I saw this I knew this was it! It got a lot of bad reviews from the brides but I did my research and it seems perfectly safe so Im going for it! I think I might attempt an I DO down there and then die it. Im excited. So thank thirty3thirty for the post!

Here is a great way to creat an inexpensive bouquet stem wrap... yourself! Use napkin rings. There are some really cute napkin rings out there which would go beautifully with your flowers. Chances are your bouquet will be thick enough for them to stay up, but if not use a corsage pin to hold it in place. I might actually give it a try...

So this is what I have come up with for the rehearsal dinner. I think my fave is probably the black and fuschia mainly because it isnt like anything I have ever worn before... But what do you think?

For all of the ladies looking... I found damask ribbon.... where else but at Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately they only sell by the yard instead of by the roll but its better than nothing!

I finished my will you be my bridesmaids cards!!! Super cute! I took Martha Stewarts idea and put my own spin on things. I got the fashion cards from MarthaStewart.com, wrote in all of my bridesmaids phone numbers and email adresses, and printed them off on pink cardstock. I wrote in the name of the dress designer and color and the same for the shoes and topped it all off with a couple swatches of the fabric. At the bottom I wrote in the accessories that go with the dress. I also made a card to go in front... The will you be my bridesmaid card... it says

I have to find the perfect shoes,
I already found the perfect groom!
I have to find the perfect dress,
the perfect flowers... what a mess!
One thing I know is true,
me day wouldn't be the same
without you!

So I have been searching for the best way to ask my girls to be my bridesmaid... and I thought I had decided on sending them a card since all of my girls are out of town and I didnt want to drop the bomb over the phone... then I found these. They are bridesmaid fashion cards. You fill them out with the dress designer and number, the shoes, and all of your contact information. Throw in a picture of the dress and shoes and a fabric swatch so there are no mistakes.They have a perforated edge so they can put it in their wallet when shopping for accessories! It will definitely keep us all on the same page since we arent in the same state. I am so in love with this idea but instead of just sending it like it is I am going to attach a will you be my bridesmaid to the cover... love it!

Yay! My Daddy and I went and put the deposit on the house. It is official we will be married on June 20th, 2009 at the Thompson House. I cannot wait to marry this man... the father of my child... my best friend. So excited!
(haha its funny. Eventhough Im 22 yars old (almost), have a 9 month old daughter, am engaged, and is in the process of buying my first home he still wants me to call him Daddy. Its cool though, I wouldnt have it any other way!)

So here are the ring pillows and flower baskets I have found that I LOVE! The damask pillow is super hot except I cant find a flower basket to match... or blend with. So I think I will go with picture one and two... just to incorporate both colors.

I really love this idea... The company is called Brush and they are a mobile salon. She does hair and airbrush make up. I love the fact that all I have to do is show up at the ceremony/reception site undressed, no make up, nothing (but a shower) and she comes to me and does everything! I love it mainly for the fact that I can be there while they are setting up and oversee everything! I really would like to be there when they set up so I know there wont be any mistakes.

I am just so excited to get to work with them again.
