I didn't put up as many of the reception, since most pictures are of course pics of family and friends, so I tried to stick with pictures showing the decor. Unfortunately there were few pics taken of the venue before people arrived. I will add more later of the first dance, etc.

Real Pics of My Wedding Hair and Bridesmaids' Hair too
We got our hair done at Celon, and the lady there, Pearl, is awesome. I had a totally different idea of what I wanted when I went in. She suggested something different and more unique. I am so glad I took her suggestion. The other girls, after seeing my hair, gave her pretty much free rein to do whatever she thought would look best.
Note where I am giving the evil eye to the veil. Once we got back to the house it got stepped on 5 times in about as many minutes and I had a bridezilla moment (thankfully my only bz moment of the day) and ripped it off! The hair still looked great! |

Real Pics of Ceremony (Peacock Decor)
I was amazed at what our decorator, Dee Dexter from From Junk to Funk (Calgary) was able to do to Triwood Community Centre. I mean, the one room where we had our reception is the nicer of the two, but the ceremony room was a horrendous box of a thing, plainer than a gymnasium. She used the stage (comes with the hall), some fabrics, bamboo sticks covered in lights, fabrics and vines, painstakingly hand-pieced together silver crystal trees, a whole lot of lighting, and a nicely gurgling fountain, candles, and artistic amazingness to completely transform the room into a rainforest at night tropical peacock themed room. The pictures do not do it justice at all! Everyone said it was the most beautifully decorated ceremony they had ever been to, and I agreed!
Some of the photos are blurry (you will see clearer ones when we have the professional pics)---but you get the idea! There are pics of the whole ceremony here so I'm just going to leave this as the ceremony post and not put another one about the ceremony. I will suffice to say---it was beautiful! The ceremony went perfectly, and I will always remember it as the most beautiful and exciting moment of my life (well, having my daughter was pretty awesome too). |

Real Pics of Bridesmaids and Groomsmen Attire
Here are some non-professional pics of the wedding party dressed up in their awesome outfits. We got the bridesmaids outfits at Sunshine Studios (dress by Bella formals by Venus), and the groomsmen were outfitted at Moores. The boutonierres for the men were designed by Dee Dexter. Me and all of the girls wore silver shoes/sandals on our feet, and I gave the girls each a nice swarovski crystal bracelet. My little sister was 8 months pregnant and had to wear a different dress, also by Bella Formals by Venus.

My Real Peacock Flowers--Pics
So I decided that instead of cramming all of the non-pro pics onto one post I will stagger them by subject. These are all photos of my wedding bouquet, some pics of the bridesmaids bouquets, and a shot of the ladies' boutonierre (grandmas and moms wore these).
I was very happy about how my bouquet turned out; it was more beautiful than I had imagined. The photos don't do them justice; they were gorgeous. They are real flowers too, in case you are wondering. The bridesmaids bouquets looked really cute as well, but I would have switched the cream flowers with something hardier the same colour, since they wilted during photography outdoors. I was also disappointed that they gave my daughter a bouquet the same as the other bridesmaids--it was supposed to be a tiny version of mine, since she had a similar coloured dress. |

10 Days!
OMG OMG OMG
Just had to post that....10 days, wow....still so much to do!
Still to do: --get rings (that don't have to be fitted)....I know we left it so late! --get rush passports (fortunately not leaving til probably the 24th) --dress fitting (today) --makeup trail (today) --get hair extentions and then have hair trial --ask Grandpa to say grace at wedding --figure out songs (hoping my pianist, my lovely and talented cousin, will kinda take charge here since we have no idea what exactly, though she gave us a questionnaire to fill out which we did) --wedding rehearsal (the Tues before the wedding @ 7:00)--and figure out details for rehearsal dinner, FH mom said probably a BarBQ --Get booze and liquor license --Get wedding license (like NOW!) --finish putting ribbon on photo coasters (we decided to put guests names and "thank you from Sara and Drew" in instead of photos, then they double as placeholders) --pick up the bridesmaids gifts (we got them pretty swarovski crystal bracelets) I can't believe we've left things so late, but until last week I was still doing my practicum, and now i'm looking for work while trying to get wedding stuff accomplished. The stress is pretty heavy, but I'm excited too. |
