Wedding Day Countdown
There are 6 months and 19 days left until the big day!!! There is still so much that needs to be done. I have my photographer, videographer, church, DJ, limousines, hall, and a room block at the Crowne Plaza for out of town guest. My honeymoon suite for the weekend has been blocked and location for rehearsal dinner has been made. But, there still much to do.....I am working on my invitations, trying to find a reasonable florist, a beautiful cake for the right price, reserve my honeymoon (still working on passports since I have never been outside of the country), get a lighting company, possible drapery, and the list goes on and on. I feel like the list never ends. My fiance tries to help as much as possible in the creative aspect but he is limited to what he can do. Though I am enjoying the planning process, it is still very complex. To add insult to injury....I changed my wedding gown because it didn't make me feel like a beautiful bride.....I looked like a marshmallow wrapped in chocolate!!! So, after trying on millions of gowns....I am getting my dress made by this phenomal seamstress. She worked with me and helped me to select something that would make me feel comfortable and also look like an enchanting bride. It is timeless and elegant and will be all that I dreamed of. I am so happy that I will only go through this once in my life.
My biggest fear is what the reception will look like since I have no one to oversee the setup process. It is being left in the hands of total strangers. Then I don't want to leave it up to family because they are always late and won't do things as you envision them. They just want to get it over and done with. This is our special day and though I know things won't go totally as planned, I still don't want to just leave to chance. My family won't let me setup my centerpieces myself the day of the wedding (so unfair). The only person that is going to do it the way I want to is me. I am stressing about all of this and I still have a ways off to go. Thank you for your listening.......you ladies are wonderful. ***STB Mrs. Lawson*** |

Wedding Dress
Finally....... I Found One
My search is finally over and I have found the dress I am going to wear for my big day. It is totally against everything I wanted. But, in it's own way it is absolutely beautiful. I do not in any way, shape or form have the desire to wear a princess type gown. That's just isn't me.....but there is something about this dress.
I have also found all my bridesmaid gowns and a flowergirl dress. My Maid of Honor order her dress yesterday. This is really starting to feel real....it felt like a fantasy before. 7mos and 30dys left!!!! |

Aisle Runner
I finally made my aisle runner. I recommend it to anyone that is considering using an aisle runner and is looking to save a lot of money. I didn't included the initial for my last name because he was against it. All and All I think that it turned out pretty okay for an amateur.

John Lawson
He Makes My Heart Sing!!!
John Lawson is my fiance and nothing makes me happier than knowing that soon I will be his wife. We have been together for 4yrs....so much so that we are starting to look alike, lol. Never in my wildest dreams could I imagine having someone like him in my life. I am thankful everyday to know him. He has given to me something that I never thought I find....honest and true love. He also helped me to focus on God and make Him the center of our relationship.Knowing that I wanted to give John the very best of me, I was able to become a better person for myself. I love me unconditionally and in turn I am able to love him whole heartedly. He is the reason for my smile and the very heart of me.
So ladies....what does your fiance mean to you??? |

Nerves....
The worry is now over.....or has it just begun
So, for the past few weeks I had a dilemma. My reception was set to be held at 8 but when I finally got to sit with the woman to discuss the church....I found out that I couldn't married any later than 3p.m. Well, that meant having my guest wait anywhere from 3 1/2 to 4 hours just to attend my reception. My fiance and I had a long discussion because now we needed to decide whether to let the venue for the reception go or the church. It was a hard decision because I had been going to the church since I was a little girl and the venue for the reception was were I had my sweet sixteen. So, ultimately they both had a significant meaning. But, we opted to change venues......being married in my home church meant more to me than anything. I had envisioned being married there for as long as I can remember. Then the search was on to find a reception hall but it had to be beautiful, include everything the other hall had to offer and then some. I was so blessed when I found Bruno's, I had been there once before and never thought anything about having my reception there. But, it was elegant, inviting, the people were friendly, and the atmosphere just reeked romance. I am so happy the reception is there. Now, that the biggest stress is over (finding venues)....I wonder if this is the end or has it just begun. Anyone else experiencing similar issues????

Guest List
I going crazy trying to figure a way to cut my guest list without hurting anyone's feelings. All of my family and friends know that I am getting married and couldn't be happier for me. Though, I would like everyone to attend, we just can't afford it.
Anyone have any advice :-(??? |

Make it yourself or Let someone else do it????
I have been going back and forth for months trying to figure out if I should get alot of the stuff made for the wedding. I have finally opted to do it myself. The expense of a wedding alone is costly (reception, church, limos, photographers, etc.)! So, I am cutting down on the budget with my do-it-yourself projects. Look at my progress....
I have made pew marker floral arrangements for the church; mother of the bride and groom corsages; my bouquet & the bridesmaids bouquet; and t-shirts for the rehearsal dinner. I still have alot to do but accomplished so much so far. My next task is tackling my monogrammed aisle runner...I will keep you posted on that. So ladies....should we do it ourselves or let someone else do it? |

Love of My Life.....
How did you meet yours?
I met the love of my life 7 years ago...I was Freshman and he was a Sophomore at our University. It was far from love at first sight!! But, somehow I knew we would always be connected in some way. It took 3 years for us to utter more than just a hello....after that the rest became history. Now every relationship has its share of ups and downs but who better than to spend it with the one God made just for you. I know now more than I ever did that John was especially designed by God just for me. I'm interested to hear your stories about the one you're going to marry......
