YAYEE WE'VE REACHED 6 MONTHS!!!
OK so I'm 2 days late, but such a momentous mileshone has to be shared with my WBC sisters!!

I know it's only the first few steps of countless more to take, but I had to break for a moment and get excited at reaching our half year anniversary point. My day started and ended with such great news throughout the day that I'm still on a high.

For those who haven't seen it yet do have a read of my recent blog re our wedding last September.

Just wanted to share.

OUR WEDDING (LONDON NEWBIE)
WE DID IT!!!
Yes folks we did the deed on the 4th Sept 2010 and are now fast approaching our 6th month anniversary. I’m very sorry for being off for so long and not updating my WBC family of my progress, but so much was going on I was unable to keep up. The good news is we are married, and very happily so.

Our wedding went by as planned all be it with several glitches. Our musicians didn’t show up; nor did our photographer. So we had no professional shots nor was it recorded:-( Till today I’m still fuming at this! We literally have no good shots barring a few from people’s cameras. I very nearly didn't have an entrance song because of the musicians not showing, gladly someone had a CD with my entrance song on it, and it turned out I was able to walk in to my choice - very tearfully so might I add. Interestingly the highlight of my day was my journey up the aisle as I cried my eyes out the moment the doors flung open and the reality of my pending marriage dawned on me – giving me flashbacks of my 30yrs of waiting; which was finally coming to and end. I cried all the way to the altar, not knowing I would’ve done as only moments earlier I was soo upset knowing my musicians had gone AWOL!

One of our visitors had to play the piano for us, with no guidance on my song choices or preferences. Our stand in photographer didn't show up either. The original had to leave town the week of the wedding, and recommended we used someone she knew. My hubby spoke with the new guy and make a verbal agreement as there was no time for a formal meeting. Well he didn't show up on the day, which was a good thing he hadn’t been paid prior. Needless to say these amongst other things made my wedding day only memorable in parts, though admittedly 80% of our plans went by smoothly, which meant overall it was a success. However being a micro manager and prioritizing like I am, not having total control of what was planned meant I was VERY frustrated at the shortcomings of others.

Full credit to my baby for planning it all on his own as I was in London till a week before our wedding; hence the mad rush at the last minute to complete things. We should’ve honeymooned in Jamaica but extra spending meant we had to postpone it till this year…I hope! On a high note our church ceremony was lovely; I did get my 1.5carat ring choice ($2500 big bucks!)….YIPPEEE!!! We didn’t have any debt at the end of it all, and most importantly I am now married to my best friend whom I wholeheartedly love. YAAYEE!!! In time we will do it all over again, the way I originally intended!:-)

Hope yall are doing well, congrats to all those who have gotten married in my absence and all the best to those that are still pending. Congrats to all the new mom’s and mother’s to be….I’m soooo jealous of you….NOT!!! lol Really I’m looking forward to enter that stage eventually. I’m here rooting for yall so keep up the hard work. I've added a few pics for you guys to see. Enjoy!

Love and God Bless!

MY ENGAGEMENT FOOTAGE!!!
Ladies because you have been soo soo kind, in giving me such warm reception; I’ve decided to share the link to my engagement. But only for a minimal time as I’ve set it to private; and only a set about of viewers can access it. So here for your perusal is my engagement footage!:-) I would’ve shared the story behind but thought you all would appreciate seeing the footage that I captured on my camera phone. All this whilst being oblivious to what was going to happen. The first minute wasn’t towards me, but the remaining time thereafter was. Please have a watch and share in the joy of my moment. Oh and feel free to share your thoughts.

Thank you!

Ok so it's not the big poofy dress I envisioned as a child, but I saw this on David's bridals and loved it instantly. It's also affordable and well within our budget. I have yet to see it or try it on in person, but intents on ordering it before it gets too late and I miss out on my size. Is this a wise idea???

LONDON NEWBIE
I'M NEW!!!
Hi everyone I'm a newbie to this site! I can't say enough how pleased I am to have discovered this wedding community. I got engaged in Feb 2010 after nearly 2yrs of courting my fiance; and we have set our date for September 2010. I am from and presently live in London UK and my fiance from ATL Georgia.

I have spent countless of hours on numerous websites, but at this point is still yet to accomplish much given that I'm overseas. However I'm hopeful that with your help I can make some positive headstart in deciding on those crucial elements that needs doing.

So I'm looking forward to interacting and gaining ideas from you ladies, and to create what we desire to be the wedding of our dreams.

Thank you!

I’m planning our smallish wedding from across the pond, which at moment is proving time consuming and very stressful. Still I'm excited about the end result, as we are aiming to achieve an intimate, classy and elegant event with about 50 of our immediate friends and family.
