Ask a Question
Do I need a crinoline?

Just wondering, I've been seeing so many brides with beautiful gowns on but they always mention not wearing the crinoline yet. I need advice with this. Is this essential? If you look at my wedding gown from my previous post does it look like I need one? Any opinions on this. Your help is so appreciated.

I would say yes.  I think the crinoline would give it the extra pop!

I'm also a little confused what I should do about this with my dress too. I think if you want the dress to look a little fuller then you might want to get crinoline. The crinoline might also make the skirt a little flatter, for example if you look at the picture the dress kind of curves in a little. I think the crinoline would fill that our some. I hope that makes sense and I'm not completely sure myself. Hope that helps.

Because you have an A-line skirt, I would suggest getting a crinoline. It will give your dress a bit more volume and keep it from looking flat. Consider going to a bridal shop (or the one you got your dress from) and asking to try on a crinoline under your dress. If you like the way it looks, you'll know. But don't buy it at the shop... you can get one for sooo much cheaper online. And since no one will really see it, it doesn't matter if it doesn't look beautiful.

I agree a crinoline would give it a cleaner look, how much fuller you want it is up to you

I'm considering wearing a crinoline for the ceremony portion of the wedding and taking it off for the reception. I want that sort of ball gown feeling (my dress is A line) when I say I Do but I want to be able to move and feel comfortable during the dancing portion of the evening. Good Luck! Your dress is beautiful!

Would you say that a regular A-line crinoline would be fine? I'm also 5'9 and saw a company offer extra long for people my height. Is this accurate?

It looks a little deflated, but then this is the only photo you put up, so it is hard to say how it looks when you actually move in it.
Very pretty bodice, btw.

Thanks everyone. I just won the bid for an A-line crinoline on ebay. I can't wait to try it out when it comes. I'll post a pic of the dress with the crinoline on. You ladies are amazing.

Try it with and without. I thought my dress was perfect the way it was, but then i tried crinoline on just for kicks....and WOW it really added to the dress! I think your dress could use some, it just gives it so much more and makes it easier to walk in without tripping on the front of your dress
