Ask a Question
I want to choke my FMIL..Is that normal??!!
I am beyond aggravated..I'm pissed the hell off!! My ignorant ass FMIL and her entire family is getting on my LAST nerve!!! There have been a series of events that led to the mother of all blow ups tonight. I'll give you a brief overview.
1. FMIL demanded that I bring all wedding invitations for her side of the family to her so that she could hand delivery them and distribute them at church....How tacky is that??!! This is not an invitation to a 3 year old's b-day party!! Forget the fact that I paid almost $100 for postage and that all of my envelopes had stamps on them. She refused to get the addresses for her family members because she felt that it would be easier to hand delivery them and she didn't feel like calling everyone. 2. I asked FMIL if she would like to attend the food tasting so that she would feel more involved in the planning process...why did I do that?? I gave her 3 weeks advance noticed and informed her that I needed to RSVP for the number attending. She decided that she would invite her sister to the tasting after I submitted the RSVP bringing the total number from 7 to 8. She had the audacity to get an attitude with the event coordinator because she said the chef only prepared food for 7 and not 8. 3. FMIL asked if she could help me assemble my favors the weekend of my bridal shower ( My shower was on Saturday BTW, I will post pics when I get them) which I agreed to. She decided to call me the night before my shower to tell me that she won't be able to make it and was very disappointed that she wouldn't be able to help me. I told her that I would be in town on Sunday ( we live 300 miles away from each other, thank GOD!!) and I would bring them with me so that she could help me assemble them. When I got there, she had the nerve to tell me to leave them with her and that she would get them back to me when she came for the wedding. How about HELL NO!! This is my DIY project that I was willing to let you help with not take over. Those are just a few of the things that led to the big blow up tonight. Of the 60 invitations that were given to his family members, I only received one RSVP. I have received all but 10 RSVPs from my family members. I gave her a copy of the guest list on Monday morning and asked her to contact her family members and have them put the reply cards in the mail or RSVP on my wedding website. Simple request, right?? WRONG!! I called her tonight to follow up and see if she made any progress. She immediately got an attitude and said that her family members were waiting until the deadline to RSVP and book their hotel rooms because they wanted to find out what the other family members were doing. WTF?? The RSVP date for the wedding was March 1st. The deadline to book their hotel rooms is March 22nd. She said they will let me know by March 22nd. When I told her that I needed this information by Saturday, the shit hit the fan!! She accused me of getting an attitude with her and loud talking her and that I needed to calm down when I'm talking to her. Excuse me??!! I kindly gave FH the phone and told him to talk to her because I was done!! I have my 30 day meeting with my wedding planner on March 23rd. At this point, the details of ceremony and reception are planned and the final headcount is due. Each guest must have a placecard, if they don't have one, they will not be admitted in the reception. For some reason, she either doesn't understand or she doesn't care. At this point, I don't give a damn!! Any who doesn't RSVP by Saturday can stay home. They had almost two months from the time they got the invitations to the March 1st deadline to RSVP. Am I overreacting?? All honest feedback will be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry the post is so long but I needed to vent. |

Wedding Dress
Potential Nightmare!!
My dress came in on 12/24 and I picked it up the following Monday. I was very excited as any bride would be to finally have my dress. I had every intention of trying on my dress before I left the bridal salon, but traffic was hell and I had to go to work in less than two hours. I decided to thoroughly examine the dress before I left, take it home and I would wait until later to try it on. Boy was I in for a big suprise. The dress is very snug in the hip area!! I wanted to pull every strand of hair from my head!!!! I could not believe that after waiting 5 months for this dress that it didn't fit!!! Reality immediately set in that I needed to hit the gym and change my eating habits. I now know that I need to lose 3-5 inches from my hips to have the perfect fit. So now the pressure is on!!! Goodbye cookies, cakes, and pies...hello salads, fruits, and veggies!!! Wish me luck ladies!!!....Operation Fit the dress is in full effect!!!
UPDATE!!! 1/21/10 I lost 5 pounds so far by changing my eating habits and working out at least 3 days a week doing cardio and yoga. I haven't taken new measurements yet, but i'm sure that I will reach my goal no later than the end of February. Yay me!!! Thanks for the support ladies!! |
