Wedding Reception
Favors, Pew Bows & Seashells
Well...I had a test run with the favors over the weekend. It went well. We are giving handmade white and dark chocolate seashells in a white box. Half will have aqua ribbon and the others will have black. My girl Jenn and I also made all the pew bows, with Aqua ribbon and a sand dollar in the middle. I was doing a very beachy wedding at first but now I am getting away from all the shells and sand. I am still using them in my centerpieces and for the escort cards, but I think that is it. I am now leaning towards a more formal wedding. I am taking out most of the tan color and replacing it with black. It just seems to make aqua look brighter to me. I will post some pictures of the favor boxes and the pew bows soon!

Getting stuff done!
Today I am meeting with a plastic surgeon to have breast augmentation, I have wanted to do this since I was 15 and now I get too. Which is perfect because I will look great on my big day. I can’t wait! More details to follow….
So this weekend was pretty eventful. I got all the ribbon that I will ever need in my life! Who ever thought I would care about ribbon! I also got the favor boxes and the candy molds so I could pre-test making the candy before the wedding. And I pretty much robbed Hobby Lobby on two pedestals for my flowers. Best deal of the year! Two pedestals for 40 bucks! That was cheaper than they rented them for. |

Wedding Reception
So...it has been a while and so much has been done...
I will try to cover everything...We took engagement photos last month, so we should get them soon. The hall is booked, the flowers have been picked. the centerpices are ready to go and the DJ is almost booked...we have two to pick from. I've been a busy little bride for the past month or so. I had some much in my mind I had to start writing everything down...that helps so much. I get a new idea. I write it down, then once a week I start pricing the idea to see if it fits in my budget. A lot of things don’t fit but the good thing is that it is early and I have plenty of time to reprice the stuff I just cant give up.
Anyway....here are some pics of the stuff that I have picked out :) |

Things have changed....but that is life....
Well the beach wedding isn’t going to happen...the stress of planning a wedding so far away is just too much. We have changed the wedding to a local golf course which we went to see last week. It was really nice and the banquet manager was amazing. One of my girlfriends talked me into going there! Thank goodness for my Jenn, she has really taken care of me. I’m using the same hall and the same photographer as her...most brides would flip at the thought of another bride using their stuff. Not Jenn, she has been wonderful, even has been out looking for favors for me. We met up for a glass of wine (aka bottle) last week and she talked me into using the same theme for the wedding as I was going to use for the beach wedding. I wasn’t sure at first but I really do love the stuff I have picked out so...the theme of a beach wedding stays.

So, I got my shoes and they are way off the color...They were more emerald green than blue...oh well, guess it wasnt meant to be. I will just have a pair dyed to match the color.

Ask a Question
Blue shoes?
I love that my dress has a hint of blue and I found blue shoes, but they aren't the same color. They are darker...My question is, do they have to be the same shade? They shoes will only be worn during the reception because I will be wearing flip flops for the ceremony. Here are the pics of the shoes, my dress pic is on the blog before this one.

Wedding Dress
I have found my dress and bridemaids dresses!
I fell in love with my wedding dress months ago when I was helping my future sister in law with her wedding. I didn’t dare try it on, didn’t want to jinx anything. After Bernie asked I knew I had to go and see if I would love it more when I tried it on. And I did! It is a little more dressy than what a beach wedding dress might look like but I love it! I also found the bridemaids dress, they are so cute and have a total beach wedding look to them.

Picking a Date....
We have picked a date!
This is the first thing that took more thought then i thought it would have. We are having a destination wedding in Florida on the beach. Trying to pick a date that is over a year out with how crazy our life’s are, it took a lot...lol. We picked June 4 2010, which gives us enough time to plan and save the money to pay for everything. Check out my save the date card! I made them myself!

The Proposal
We are engaged!
Bernie asked me on April 10th at the Tigers opening day. I was taken by complete surprise! That was the best! I am a bit of a planner...or maybe I am a lot of a planner...lol, so I always thought I would know but I didn’t even see it coming. The Tigers stadium is a special place for us, our first date was there, our one year anniversary date was there and now it is even more special to us!
