Mother-Daughter Dance Songs?
I'll be dancing with my mother since my father wasn't around. I like R&B and alternative music. I like gospel too, but we're not really having much of a religious service other than a preacher marrying us and a prayer to bless the marriage. So, I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a few songs my mama and I could dance to? My friends who got married in 2006 used the song "Mama" by Boyz ll Men. If I used it again would I be accused of stealing even though it would be 3 years later?

I was in a wedding where the bride was raised without her dad. So instead of the father daughter dance, they did the mother daughter dance.
They did the original version of wind beneath my wings. I know that's not R&B'ish, but it was the most touching moment of the entire wedding. Not a dry eye anywhere, we were all bawling our eyes out because it was just so perfect.
I think a mother daughter dance should be by a female vocalist, it captures the moment better.
Love the idea, and you look just like your mama!!
