Wedding Flowers
Afloral? Need input please!
I've finally sold my cala/orchid flowers and I'm looking at ordering anemones and peonies from Afloral.com. Has anyone ever ordered from here? Were they decent? They seem pretty cheap so I'm afraid they'll look cheap as well?
**Added** What are your thoughts on making "flowers" from chiffon and burning the edges up in colours similar to the anemone to still have the look? They would kind of look more like ranunculus flowers but with the colouring of an anemone? Picked their dresses!!
Sorry the picture is so small. But I decided on the girls dresses today! They are by After Six. I am not sure if they should be pink or grey? What do you ladies think?
I'm leaning toward feather bouquets and would go white if they have pink dresses (I think) or pink if we go with grey. I just wish I was more decisive! lol |

All kinds of things!
Anyone looking for vases? I have a whole whack of three varying sizes. They are round. I'm in Saskatchewan and don't think it would be worth shipping them but just thought MAYBE there might be some other SK or Manitoba girls here that might be interested, I'm right on the border pretty much. I also have rolls of plastic table cover, we thought we'd need to decorate the walls (Small town galls will understand lol) That we no longer need because we changed venues! And I can't return. I have hot pink and black, will have to edit with how many of each!
I also have a whole wedding set of flowers! I'm willing to part with these for $500 and will ship them for free. They are real touch calalillies and orchids. They're gorgeous but I reallly really want feather bouquets now! Included is a bride's, 5 bm's, toss away, 3 mom corsages, 2 father bouts, five gm's bouts, one grooms, and a mini ring bearer bout (saftey pin), and a bonus cluster of decoration for guest book table or cake table. If you need additional I'm close with the florist and could arrange getting you more added (at additional cost) if needed! I also have a gorgeous wedding dress that I planned to wear in Mexico. Which is not happening anymore. It is size 8 and I paid almost 1000 for it but willing to let it go for 500. |

Wedding Decoration
Thinking about making a change in colors!
Oh boy here we go again...I want to change plans AGAIN! Brutal! I guess that's what we get for having to replan for a 3rd time!!!
Our colors were fuschia, black and white. But the suits Nick has picked out for himself and the guys is a silvery grey, and I don't think we can just throw in grey suits with those colors. And I am so in love with grey right now! I suck at accessories and need your opinions!
I am the worst accessorizer! I just don't usually because I don't have a clue, and Mikka like to rip my necklaces off..I have always loved pearls but didn't think typical pearls would look very good with my dress. I am back...!!
We've set a new date!
I haven't been on here for almost 7 months. I always peek back in and read what you're all up to, but I haven't posted for so long. We had to cancel our wedding for a second time due to my husbands father being in a car accident. He is now a quadriplegic but he is now home from the hospital and is very happy to be home with his wife!
We have set a new wedding date of July 2, 2011!! I am so excited that I can finally start making things and planning again! It is crazy how bored a person can get once not having a wedding to plan!! I hope you all have been well and I look forward to (hopefully) reconnecting with you all!!! I have got a lot of catching up to do here!! |

Lost without a wedding to plan!
I haven't been on here forever and it's actually making me sad! I see my countdown is still at only 8 days and it makes me realize how close our wedding would be! We still haven't set a date for our small one in Calgary but we're thinking the Aug 1 weekend.... I'm so bored without the big wedding to plan and sort everything out for! I've been directing my energy out to my garden and flowers now, I'll post some pictures eventually...and I'm telling you girls, if you want cheap centerpieces buy some nice pots and plant some tuberous begonias! They are soooo pretty!!!!!!!
One of my best friends is getting married this weekend and I'm her BM so I'm getting at least a taste of all the chaos of planning and arranging! Nick's Dad is doing great! He is gaining a bit more movement in his arms and the feeling has come down them a bit and he is still in very great spirits! The Power of God is so so amazing it still floors me!!! I thank you all very much for all your kind words, thoughts, and prayers! You girls are all amazing! |

Big wedding off
New plan
We finally talked to David and Patti (Nick's Dad and Mom) and we are for sure calling off our big planned wedding and having a VERY small, intimate ceremony in Calgary at the hospital (see earlier posts) with only parents and our siblings and grandparents hopefully.
We're not sure when yet, but probably around our original date! |

David Update!
I figure it's about time for an update!
Thank you all so much for your prayers and thoughts!!! It means so much to our family!!!
We haven't heard too much on David the passed couple of days. He has been moved to Calgary, he arrived at about 2 am Monday morning. It was a loooong flight for them, and he was as well as Patti (Nick's Mom) completely exhausted and then it took a long time to be admitted to the hospital, I'm sure mainly because it was 2 in the morning! David is using a C-pap machine when he sleeps to help him breath. This is not a ventilator, it just helps support deeper breaths from what I understand. He is teaching himself to breath more with his diaphragm (belly breathing- like what they teach you to do in labor) and it is quite tricky. He says the machine really helps him rest better, and is even better now that he is in Canada and he can explain to the doctors what is good and bad about the way it was working. The language barrier was getting very difficult for David in Germany for this reason. He had a custom fit neck brace put on in Munich which I think because of the language barrier again they couldn't understand what was not good with it, and they have now got it fitting better and more comfortable for him. We've been trying to get a hold of Patti for two days, but she is mentally and physically exhausted, spending most of her day with David. Nick spoke with Patti's sister tonight and she let us know that he's doing well and very happy to be in Canada. He knows what he is ordering for meals (Apparently he was having trouble in Germany figuring out what things even were!) As of right now, David is considered a "complete quadriplegic" and was told in Germany he only has a 5% chance of regaining movement in his legs, and quite possibly his arms. They did an MRI there before he was transferred to Calgary and they discovered his spinal cord was not completely severed like they had originally assumed from the pictures of his cat scan. David is VERY determined that he will walk again. And I really hope that you ladies will keep praying for him! I hope you are all doing well and wedding plans are coming along amazing! I feel so lost not worrying about finding things, getting diy's done, etc. If anyone needs help finding things or ideas or anything please let me know! Keep me sane!! :) |

Our wedding has been postponed twice already! The first was supposed to be in Mexico but swine flu hit. The second was planned to be on my Dad's farm but my future father in law was injured in a car accident. So now, we're planning the third wedding still to take place at my Dad's!
