A Wonderful Book
The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands

How many of you ladies have read this book?
My MIL gave it to me shortly before the wedding. Before I read it, I didn't think it would be worth my time...I thought I would read a couple chapters then stash it away on my bookcase and forget about it.
So I was pretty surprised when I loved it and ended up finishing it in two nights. Although I didn't agree with absolutely everything she had to say, she still blew me away! Her insight into relationships is amazing, and she definitely made me stop and think about my relationship with my husband!
I can honestly say that this book improved our relationship and reminded me of my husband's needs.
To those of you who haven't read this book yet, I strongly recommend it!

I have seen this book.  My mom gave it to my sister when she was married and I even think she has it floating around her own house.  I'll have to check into it.

My Pastor gave me Fall in Love Stay in Love by Willard F. Harley Jr.  I haven't read it...I really should though.  The first couple chapters made sense.

I saw this in the library and fingered through it a few times... it came across to me as sounding like it was mostly the woman's responsibility to keep the relationship stable, comfortable etc. for both of them. Unless she has one about "the proper care & shopping for wives." that I can throw at my husband & make him read, it really didn't interest me much- it sorta came across like the subservient wife. But, like I said, I didn't read it. I just flipped through it and read little passages here & there so I may have got completely the wrong end of the stick on it.

Sapphire -  I get where you're coming from -  there are a couple parts I didn't agree with, and at times she does come off like it's the woman's responsibility. My opinion is both the husband and wife needs to take care of their marriage, and there's no way in heck I'll be subservient, and he knows that! What I did like about the book was it put some things into perspective for me that were issues in our relationship and reminded me not to take my husband for granted.
