DIY Cookie Favors...
to go!
Yum cookies! These fool-proof do it yourself wedding cookie favors are delicious and easy to bake. Fun to decorate too! When in doubt when deciding on wedding favors go with something edible. These cut-outs are ideal because after frosting and decorating them you can freeze them for up to two weeks without losing any flavor or texture. Great way to make them ahead of time!
![]() Wedding Cookie Favors Recipe: * 2.25 cups flour * 1 cup confectioners sugar * 1 cup melted butter * 1 egg * 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract Mix together sugar and flour. Combine the egg, butter and vanilla extract. Slowly add the flower mixture to the wet mixture bit by bit until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate the dough for 5 hours. (Overnight is easier) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease pans with crisco or line them with parchment paper. Lightly flour your kitchen table or other large work surface and roll the dough 1/4 inch thick and cut out with cutters. Carefully transfer the shapes with a spatula to the cookie sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Leave cookies on sheet for another 5 minutes and then transfer them to a wire rack or just on some paper towels to cool completely before icing. Website for tons of COOKIE CUTTERS: http://www.cookiecutter.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=88 Icing Recipe * 1/2 cup confectioners sugar * 1 tablespoon water * 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract * food coloring, sprinkles, candy, etc Mix sugar and water/vanilla extract together to form a paste and add food coloring drops to color. Also consider using sprinkles and candy to decorate! Gel decorating pens are a great way to get clean designs and you could even monogram your cookies with initials easily. ![]() Place your cookies in cellophane bags, paper bags, small tins or boxes. Colored cellophane can be purchased, cut in squares and simply tied around the cookies with a ribbon. Have fun baking up some delicious cookies! |

First Dance... Sort of
You are the cheese to my maccaroni
David and I have both been trying to think of something fun and entertaining for our first dance. We both love to sing. So we thought instead of a first dance we would do more of a performance. We are going to attempt the song from the new move JUNO! :) I can already play the guitar but David can't so wish us luck learning!

DIY Isle Runner Instructions
you can do it ;)
A few of you have been wanting instructions for the Isle Runner I made below! It's actually Pretty Easy, I think you can do it! Click the Pictures to enlarge them.
1. Go to a Craft Store like Hobby Lobby or Joanne Fabrics and buy a White Isle Runner. Mine was 30.00$ 2. Come up with a monogram or design to put on your runner.... ex: your initials, they lived happily ever after, or Mr. and Mrs. Smith...SKY'S THE LIMIT! 3. On your computer try coming up with different designs... I had to print out each letter separately to get them to the right size. This part will take a lot of time and also tweaking. 4. Find a big space or table to work on and lay out your letters or designs how you want them and then tape them to the table. ![]() ![]() 5. Lay your runner ON TOP of your letters because they will show through. Now you can TRACE those letters using a black paint marker ( I used two). Let dry. ![]() ![]() ![]() 6. REMOVE the letters from underneath of the runner and replace with WAX PAPER.... **** IMPORTANT if you don't do this your runner with dry to the table or floor and end up ripping! 7. Now you are ready to paint in your letters:) ![]() ![]() 8. Be creative add jewels or whatever else you like, my instructions are pretty basic. I hope they gave you a good idea!!! I free handed the big "n" on ours. ![]() GOOD LUCK GIRLS! Let me know if you have any questions or need help thinking of ideas:) |
