This is sweelen24's Blue Wedding!

My wedding in the Dominican REpublic was all that I wished for and more. God was definitely celebrating that special day with us. We had beautiful weather the entire time we were there. We had a falling star and a full moon for our outdoor wedding. Right after the wedding was over at midnight showers rained down for 15 minutes. I am so blessed and this really is a testimony to that. It has been a wonderful experience being on wedding by color. Good luck to everyone. Enjoy the planning but don't over plan and get stressed out about little details that don't matter on the actually day. Enjoy every moment because it ends and then the fun really begins..

So, in trying to make the wedding a little different I am fishing for unique table name ideas. I am not a DIY bride because I am as artistically challenged as a 1st grader. But, I would like some cost effective ways to create the table name...

Ideas 1).Monogram with table number
Idea 2) Chinese proverbs and chinese symbols
Idea 3) African symbol for love + life + with our names and table number
Idea 4) TAble names of things that are essential for a marriage.
I probably won't do the wedding trivia table name with places we visited or things we've done because we haven't been together for a very long.,...
Anything else to suggest?

Cost effective is always great...as well

I consider myself very eccentric and I tend to like things out of the ordinary or non-traditional (there are obviously some exceptions). I would love examples from brides to help take your wedding to the next level without breaking the bank.

The table card names....
I like the idea of a tent card with baby pictures of us at different ages to match the table # but since I'm doing a destination wedding the tent idea may be difficult

I also thought about words that are important to a marriage but I'd love to put a spin on this..not sure how...

I was thinking to have Asian writing at the top or something...

Any suggestions for ways to help make your wedding personalized, keeping in mind that its a destination wedding

I went to a wedding this weekend and they did play jazz..a live jazz band for the ceremony. That was nice. I thought the reception entrance was very cute because they were caribbean like myself and they chose to come in to a trini song---chipping which I may still and She's Royal was their first dance...

My dress is very busy so I need an updo for my locs but something that is elegant & nice. The catch is that I have to do my hair myself since I'm having a destination wedding in DR. I don't know how good their staff will be at styling locs. I need to start practing what I will do on that day. Are there any african american brides who will be adding hair jewelry to their hair? Any sites to recommend

What's a girl to do

I think its a nice unity candle alternative. I got this from another weddingbycolor's blog. I don't think I've seen a shadow box before so is it that there is an opening in the top so you can pour the sand in. Has anyone used the shadow box before?

Tiffany blue brides....Where can I get tiffany blue/aqua cardstock paper. I would like to try a DIY project for my wedding programs. I found some on ebay but they were selling it as a invitation kit and I was outbid. Any ideas...or options for a unique wedding program for less..Cheers

I loved how chic and modern the invitation was.

I fell in love with this dress after trying on several dresses. It is very unique and non-traditional at the same time. I need to get a lot of bling jewelry since the dress doesn't have a lot of bling on it.
