kind of wedding related: weight loss before the big day
The Cabbage Soup Diet
Ok so i know many brides who starve themselves and go through rigorous boot camps in attempts to try to lose wight before their wedding day. When i was first planning my wedding BEFORE having my twins i never planned to do that,. I was healthy and comfortable with my weight. Now i have had a dramatic weight gain in the past three years since their birth and i have decided to do something about it. Im really losing weight to be healthier and i would really love to look my best in my wedding pictures. However the deal got even sweeter, my mother told me that if i lose 50 pounds( i know its alot but ive done it before) she would pay for any wedding dress i wanted. Also the company i work for is having a "Biggest Loser" contest where one of the grand prizes is 2,500.00 and 2 round trip tickets to anywhere in the continental U.S.! BINGO! Weight loss plan is in full gear....ummm....wait...i dont have a weight loss plan.
So people have told me take this and take that, And from past experiences i dont do well with diet supplements. Then people told me to cut out carbs, umm yeah how realistic is that for me. I am African American with hispanic blood, I eat rice and beans like it aint nobody's business! LOL! So that was not an option for me. Besides I tried the Atkins a few years ago, i did lose a nice amount of weight but i gained it back so fast plus more! I needed my carbs! Then my cousin told me to try the Cabbage Soup Diet, which i have heard of for years but never thought i loved cabbage enough to try it. But i Googled it and once i read the plan, i realized its totally doable for me. Its 7 days on and a few days off. My cousin started the diet Monday , its Friday and she lost a total of 9 lbs already! And she cheated! So im going to try it. I wont stay on it forever, I know losing weight is a lifestyle change. However i will use this to lose the first 20 lbs and jumpstart my metabolism. Any one on a weight loss plan? Any of you ladies ever tried the cabbage soup diet? |

Color/Theme: Love's First Blush
So I have been searching for the perfect Vintage color Pink for my Bridesmaids dresses. Davids Bridal had nothing that was close. So while looking at gowns(for Moi) at the Alfred Angerlo Bridal Shop. I noticed a few dresses on display in the perfect color. I immediately called the store consultant over and she informed me that the color was called "Loves First Blush". I am indeed in love. So that will actually be the theme of the Ceremony "Loves First Blush".
In the pics are dresses shown in the Loves First Blush color, we havent chosen the styles yet, we go for our first Bridal Party Dress Hunt on June 10th. But the 2 MOHs & the 3 BMs will wear Love's First Blush and the 2 Jr BMs will wear the Tea Rose color(3rd pic)which is just a little lighter and more pink than LFB. Happy Planning Sweetie Pies! |

No Candy Buffet for Me!
Desserts Table It Is!
When I initially started to plan my wedding i was all geeked up about doing a candy buffet. But while out looking for glass jars/containers I realized how much that crap can add up. Not only that, FH said hes tired of seeing them, lol. Every party, baby shower, etc. that we've gone to in the past year has had a candy buffet. So we both decided we would do a dessert table, it will be sort of like a late night snack to end the night. There will be all of our favorite desserts:
My Homemade Brownies Cookies (Chocolate chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Macadamia Nut) from our Favorite Bakery My Mom's Lemon Cake (His Fave) and Caramel Cake(My Fave) His Grandmother's Sweet potato pie (My Fave) & Apple Pie (His Fave) My Homemade Pound Cake White Chocolate & Milk Chocolate covered strawberries(Everyones Fave LOL) Cake Pops & Truffles from our favorite Bakery Red Velvet Cheese Cake from the Cheesecake Factory And My All-time Favorite!!! Krispy Kreme Doughnuts We will also have mini cups of Blue Bell Ice Cream and mini bottles of milk kept on ice. I will order cute paper straws from Etsy in pink for the milk. Im going to get cute baskets from the dollar store and paint them in my wedding colors then line them with pretty linen napkins or Fabric for the Cookies, Brownies, & Doughnuts. The cake will be pre-sliced and placed on dessert plates. I will get vintage platters and pie holders from family members for the rest of the desserts. This way I wont have to purchase 20 thousand Jars and Glass containers if I was doing a candy buffet. Saving us MOOLA!!! |

Wedding Hair Style
I finally found it!
For me finding the perfect wedding day hairstyle has become just as important as the finding the perfect wedding dress. I am VERY particular about my hair(as i am an unofficial hair stylist). Some people are shoe fanatics, i am a hair fanatic. I love wearing different hairstyles and seeing how they look on me. So once i knew what kind of dress i wanted, the search has been on for my wedding day 'do. Wednesday my best friend and I were watching the Brandy & Monica video and thats when i spotted :THE 'DO'. LOL. It has that vintage feel with a modern twist to it., which is what i really want I also love the way her makeup is done so i will also be using this pic for makeup ideas.
Im going to get the first style for the ceremony, then when i take the pins down for the reception it will look like the second pic. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! |

So i dont need to preach to the choir and tell u all how sucky WBC has been lately. Not able to post, comment nada! Sometimes the site doesnt even load. Anyway im still here! Super excited im now only a year away, and trust i see how fast a year can pass because when i first joined i had about 18 months.
I cant believe my Girl Christy is getting married tomorrow!? Im so excited for her! Well what have i been up to? LOL not much wedding planning i can tell you that, i actually took a month off to just relax and spend time with my FH, my family and friends. I took a trip with my friends/cousins/sister(MOHs included) and i had a blast. I was happy to finally do somethings outside of wedding planning, it was becoming a bit overwhelming. Now i feel good and im ready to get back in to the game! Happy Planning Ladies! |

I really had no idea what kind of monogram I wanted, but she got ideas from my blog about our "Vintage Romance" theme and came up with something so unique and beautiful.
