To Buy or To Make???????????????????
Ladies
I am having a hard time trying to figure out if we are going to purchase the BM dresses or have them made. Keep in mind I have a rather large wedding party...12BM~~5Jr.BM~~and 3FG's.

I'm wondering what would be the cheaper way to go and how would I go about getting the girls exact measurements(6 of my BM'S are out of state)AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

At this point I'm stuck and just dont know what to do. I want to consider everyones body shape and style but I think maybe I have bit off more than I can chew with this BM situation.

PLLLLLEEEAAASSSEEEE~~~~~PLEASE!!!! I need your help and advice on what you think I should do.

I would take the BM who are in the same city as you out for a day of looking at bridesmaids dresses.  Once you have an idea of (3) styles that you like I would then find them online and send pictures to the out of State bridesmaids and ask that they go and try them on in their city.  Then when all is said and done have them give you their short list of styles.  PS they can be measured at the stores and provide you measurements.

I am having my bridemaids dresses made, and i do admit that it is a challenge because i have 2 out of state.  I think that it depends on the kind of dress you want them to wear. The only reason why their dresses are being made is because i want them to have authentic african lace dresses, so i had to import the fabric. If you are looking to do something that you can't find on the internet, or locally then by all means have them made.

for my sisters wedding she wanted to have them made thinking it would cost less for us girls. that was the only reason.  
in the end it was about the same cost ( i think i saved like $20) and honestly it was a huge pain in the butt for us girls and not worth the $20 savings.

I wouldn't make them because as jamiejo mentioned they'll probably end up costing the same and it's a lot less stress on you if you just buy them...

Oh, and in most cases bridesmaids pay for their own dresses... So especially in your sense it would make more sense for them to spend a little bit than for you to spend $1,200 on top of what you're already having to pay...

I was thinking a good idea for you might be to check out a place that has stores in lots of locations (like davids bridal)..that way you can pick out the dress and then give everyone the style number and color. They can go and get measured and get the dresses on their own :D
Sorry if this doesn't help..just a quick idea that popped into my head.

That's what I was going to ask. Are you paying for their dresses? If the girls are paying for their own maybe you could ask them what they would prefer. But if they are not in the same area I highly suggest buying because fitting for a made dress will be harder.

the bridesmaids will buy their dresses....but if i get them made I was thinking that I would buy the fabric and they would pay for the lady making the dress....????????

wow what a huge bridal party!!! anywho...since some of your bridesmaids are out of town i would suggest buying them...like one of the other ladies said are you paying for them yourself?...if not try to find locations across the u.s so that it it easier for everyone.  you don't want to stress yourself out!!! as far as trying to accommodate everyones body type some bridal shops have dresses with different tops or same top different bottoms, so once you find the location & dress have your bridesmaids choose from your selection.
