Massive Update
So havn't blogged in a while.... but we had a few bits of bad news, my aunty passed away and so did James.
Anyways... we are now trying to finally look forward to the wedding as everything has been doom and gloom. I got my bridemaid dresses, from Alfred Angelo and they are a pinky Corall colour. The Ushers and James are having Champagne. So the overall colour scheme I have gone for is Pink, Champagne and Ivory. We got our cake... check out their website.. they are AMAZING: www.thevanillacakecompany.co.uk I am going with a vintage feel to the wedding..a romantic wintery... vintage wedding... I have also had my hair trial... will post pictures up.... I don't want to wear a Tiara... It's not me.. But I am still in talks.... so we still have a way to go.. Invitations are all agreed.... they are STUNNING!!! It's all getting sooo exciting - 7 months to go... INSANE!!!! |

Colour Change?? HELP!!
My favourite colour is pink.. I do love it, but because our wedding is going to be next November (Winter Wedding)... does that still mean I cant have a pink theme? Not over the top pink... but maybe more a darker pink....
I do love purple.. and also the hotel is going to have all the xmas decorations up.... However my head says purple but my heart really wants pink.... Any winter pink themed ideas???? I am having a panic for some reason.... |

Engagement Party

So here are a few pictures from the Engagement Party which was back in September.. some more will follow we had a problem as I put disposable cameras on all the tables and they came out terribly ... so have been counting on people who had digital camera's and slowly collecting photos....
Tip to you all - Dispoasble camera's def cheaper option.. but not worth the risk.. I had 15 of them and about 3 pictures that turned out ok!! xx |

Wedding Dress
Oh yes... the dress
So.. I went to a wedding dress shop a while back... A designer in London, called Caroline Castigliano and I took my dad with and his girlfriend...
I am really close with my dad and my mother has not really been around and kinda walked out on us a long time ago, so its always been me my dad and two brothers... But recently he has found someone who is lovely so I thought best to take them both.. This shop was amazing, my dad was a complete mess... and so was his girlfriend... to my surpise I was very calm and together.. unlike my dad (who is a real man's man.. so seeing him like that was emotional).// after lots of tears and emotions .. plus 2 dresses tried on.. I tried the ONE.... slim fitted, strapless all lace and sparkly... ivory colour... needless to say I didnt want to take it off. I will get some pictures of it soon... but not yet.. I want to wait till the fittings and everything is a bit more together. I cant belive I got it already... but hey if you know, you know? Right? |

The dreaded wedding Diet..
So, I know its a year away... but I think most of us women all go through this stage...
About two years ago I went on Weight Watchers and lost 5 stone ... it was needed... well over the 2 years, if I am being completely honest with myself and not lying... as much as I would love to convince myself I have stayed that 5 stone lighter... I have not... however only a stone has been put on.. which I think is pretty good. Weight Watchers for me is fantastic, other people may think differently, but I very much belive it's what suits you best. For some it may be great but for others maybe not. ... Anyways about 3 weeks ago... in desperate need to shed that extra stone (plus a lil but more) I went back... is it sad to say I missed it? Also the planning of it I love and WW has introduced a new diet plan so its nice to get back into planning everything again from stage one (I am an organised planning freak) so stuff like this is what I love.. (freak... I know).. So... after three weeks of sticking to the plan, plus still eating and not starving myself (thats what I love about WW)... I have now lost half a stone... 7lbs!! YAY I am not the biggest person in the world... my height being only 5ft1 has let me down in life (few more inches and I would look fine).. but I am very honest with myself and I know when I need to loose. I will never be skin and bone, I have the curves... and I wish to keep those but I feel its only natural on your biggest day of your life to want to look amazing and not just for that special day but I also feel better about myself in general. After my first dress fitting *yes I bought the dress.. another blog to follow* made me think... The dress looked amazing I did not want to take it off...however I knew that loosing a stone would maybe make it look that lil but better. I am not a manic weight fanatic.. I know it sounds like I am, I just wanted to share my 7lbs lost with everyone... I could never be a weight fanatic I love my food way to much. I just find it hard, as I am sure most women do that every magazine has size 0 models, a healthy size 10 or 12 is not acceptable and are therefore labelled they are over weight and need to diet (Yes, you may say stop buying these magazines but I love readind them however crap they make me feel)... to be honest most women I know are size 10-12 even more and they look fantastic... even my friends who are size 6's.. and are tiny everyone has inperfections!! its just a tough world to live in when size 0 is supposed to be the perfect weight? Marilyn Monroe was a size 16? or maybe 18? I was told!!! And she was the most beautiful woman ever.. Anyways enough about me blabbing... boring you all I am sure.. it's such a hot topic I am very passionate about but I belive all women of all sizes, shapes should be acceptable.. real women. So that brings me to my point, I am honest about my body, I will always have hips, and those big bits I hate, but thats what makes me, me! (Lets just shed this stone and I will be happier).... |

Wedding Reception
Savill Court Hotel Windsor
James actually found this venue online. We already had visits to venues every weekend in July.. we decided to move this one to the first one we saw as it looked too good to be true (we had seen one before.. but it was awful)...
We walked in (My Dad, James's Mum, James & Me)... and got this sense of warmness.. for an Old English Manor Hotel it was stunning. Some can be old and musky but this was nothing of the sort, the Wedding Planner who showed us around was just... amazing.. and everything from the rooms, to the spa... to the grounds were amazing! I have always wanted a Winter Wedding. I LOVE the idea of Summer weddings but living in England, you cant bank on the weather and I didnt want to take the risk. With our wedding being in November (last week of) we are coming in to the Christmas months, everyone is in good spirts and excited... and after our wedding and honeymoon we will still have Xmas to come back to and I thought it was a lovely touch all round. We are getting married in the Orangrey room which is lovely. I am Jewish and James isn't (by jewish law he is, as his mother is jewish and runs through the womens blood line) however he wasnt raised that way to we always agreed to have a non relgious service but agreed upon having some aspects of the Jewishness to it. I think we may have a Chupha... and do some Israeli dancing and stuff.. but that is all yet to be decided. The room we are having the party in, is called the Great Hall.. and its just FANTASTIC!!! |

The Proposal
A Normal Monday (17th May 2010)
My boyfriend of 2 and a half years decided on an average Monday evening... that he wanted to go out for a drink somewhere. I couldnt quite get my head round it, I had just come out the shower and dinner was sitting on the table.. very odd behaviour on his behalf.
We are currently living with my Dad whilst we are saving for a place. I looked to my dad who I have always lived with (no mum on the scene) and was slightly worried and concerened. I finally gave in too go... convinced he was going to end things. He drove and I just sat messaging my dad saying how I think he is going to end it... My dad replied "He prob had a hard day at work"... At this time my nerves were getting the better of me. James, (Now Finance) is a very calm, easy going guy... relaxed and goes with the flow... This was all out of character. In the end (of a very akward car journey) we arrvied at this little country pub called The Battleaxes.... (we had our first date here and lots of other mini dates etc..) so it was a special place. We hadnt been there in years... James got out the car asked me to get his wallet out the glove comparment and inside was that black velvet box... that small black box that sends you into a frenzy of panic... and excitement along with emotion. I turned around... and there was my 6ft2 Blue eyed boyfriend sitting on one knee... while i was holding the box and shaking... He opened the box (by this time my hands were shaking so bad)... said those four little words and the rest was just a mess of tears on my behalf (and obviously I said Yes). The ring was STUNNING.... We went back to mine (we never quite got into the pub) and my dad, brothers, his parents, grandma and brothers were all waiting ... Seriously.. one of the most amazing moments of my life... and a fantastic Monday evening!! |
