Did you know about your bridal shower or was it a surprise?

My mom just told me that we're having my bridal on March 21st of 2010. She said she know how much I hate surprises and thought I would rather know. Which is completley right.

The only problem is I don't know how envoled I should get. Should I just leave it up to my MOH and my mom or should I plan it for them?

Was yours a surprise or did you know? And if so, how involved did you get?

I knew I was having one- my FG's mom planned it. She asked me about 40 questions about what I liked and didn't like, what dates worked for me, and I just left her to plan it. I didn't know what to expect when I got there but she kept it smaller (only immediate family really- which was still fairly large seeing as it's ALL women in both mine & FH's families), didn't have a theme and didn't play any games (since I'm not one who's much for those kinds of things)

I knew about one but well not the other I guess. I had one with the in- laws in which I knew about. I had also received an invitation to my own bridal shower thrown by my moh, but turned out it was a fake, and I was surprised a week early!  This meant two of my close girlfriends were there whom I was expecting not to be if it had been the week later! I would personally leave it up to them. They will do a great job I am sure. Just don't have expectations of what you want it to be. I am sure it will be lovely and it'll be above and beyond what you thought it would be. I know mine was!

Let them plan... its there something special to you so don't get in the way of their ideas.  I'm sure it'll be a wonderufl shower!

I know about mine because my MOH is my sister and she lives in South Carolina and everyone else lives in NY and NJ.  So I have to know when she is coming in for it. Plus, she tells me everything (lol) so I know when, where, etc. I secretly want to be in control of it and be involved since I’m planning the wedding and I’m on a planning kick lol, but I am going to let them do their thing and not get stressed out about another thing.  It’s going to be a wine tasting too, which I’m excited about, and I have ideas about what would be cool but I’m keeping them to myself.  ?
