Wedding Rings And Jewelry
Wedding band - diamonds or no diamonds?

So here is my Precious (aka my ring) and I am trying to pick a wedding band design. The first 3 pics are my E-ring (sorry the phone ones are so blurry but you get an idea). My friend is designing our wedding bands and I am trying to figure out if I want a channel set band with a few (5-7 stones) at the top of the ring or if I want a plain band. I have attached both styles. Which one do you girls think would look better? I love Precious - she's so unique and don't wanna take away from her with too much other stuff, but then again, diamonds are a girl's best friend ;) What to do?

personally i'd go with the channel set. i think it would compliment, rather than take away from, your band.

I would go with the channel set band as well. Judging from the size of the ring you already have on your finger, if you got a plain band, it would look a little off. With the channel set band, it would accent it very nicely.

I have a channel set ring....I tried it on with my E-ring and it was perfect. Like jtherrie said with a plain band it would look off.

Hey, there you are!  :)  Been a crazy week, so haven't been able to get on here too much, but can't wait to read through your blog!

As for the ring...my first thought was to just do a plain band to draw the attention to your BEAUTIFUL ring.  But, I think the best solution is to try on both with your e-ring, and then decide what you think looks best.

And thanks for your compliment on my dress/story!  :)

Thanks ladies! Maybe what I'll do is while I'm out Christmas shopping, try on both styles. I love the channel set look too, but seeing it on, even to get a rough idea, is probably a great idea! :)

bananapants, thanks for the compliment :) but also throw that beautiful word your way cuz that's what you are in that dress!! :)

chanel! i am having the same issue because my e-ring has a plain band so i think i should have a plain wedding band with it but i want more bling so i'm gonna get a diamond wedding band to make it sparkle = )

Channel set won. I went to Birks yesterday and tried on plain and channel set, and it was an obvious winner. Even their smallest channel set ring was gorgeous with it. It was really thin and had little round diamonds and it looked so pretty!

You ladies were right :) Going to give my friend the order today!

I had this same debate. Thought for sure I wanted a plain band.. but when we got to the jeweller to purchase the bands i ended up loving the channel band with the diamonds!  My fiance was much happier with that decision too since he had been upset that i was just going with a plain band.

I know netter! I thought Mark would be happy with the channel band, he likes the infinitiy one with the diamonds all around, and I thought he would be happy that i was being so practical and wanting just the diamonds on top and making the cost less! Guess on this, they like to show they got their girl the best. :)

lol yeah Brett was the same! He was determined that I get more diamonds. The channel was was our compromise.  I am also the budget keeper for our wedding so I  think that played a big part in our difference in opinion :) I know if I went with the ring he wanted for me I would have to give up something else to justify the cost!

Normally I'm not the budget keeper but on this one, trying to keep it together. You can get sooo carried away wedding planning!

Oh the budget challenges, I know! And while the ring will last longer than the actual wedding day, I figure if I really want more diamonds, there are lots of anniversaries in our future where I can get em! ;)

jujubee, not just you at all! but at this point, still gotta prioritize where the money goes. we made a decision to have a bigger wedding for our families to come together, meet and be honoured for making us who we are. that decision did take away from some other stuff, but only temporarily. but then we have the rest of our lives to spoil each other. :)
