#1 tip for a beautiful wedding day!

All you need is love. Period.

Here is an email I got my uncle when he saw the civil ceremony/pre-wedding pictures.

It made me cry it was so sweet, but it also made me think.

He's sooo right. What matters most is love, the simple joy of loving another person soo much that you want to spend your lives together. That's all you need for your wedding day to go perfectly. All the additions are sooo fun and make your wedding fabulous, and I'm not talking anyone out of them, lol, but at the same time, if something doesn't go quite right that day, the most important thing is that you are celebrating one of the best occasions life can offer. And that is finding real, true and pure love. Not everyone gets that chance, so all I'm saying, is don't get caught up in the details so much that you forget to enjoy that! :)

Thought it was an excellent reminder to me. I was starting to wish I could do a bunch of stuff for the wedding that we probably can't afford, and be frustrated at finding solutions, etc. This made me take a step back and say, who cares? I am marrying the man of my dreams, it will be beautiful and amazing, because the love that I have found with him is beautiful and amazing. :)

So thought I would share. If you're stressed about the wedding, about getting your projects done on time, about not having the perfect wedding, etc... think about it. This really is the most important part.

I really thank my uncle for reminding me of this. :) He always has a knack for saying the most profound things to keep me on track.

Absolutely and utterly true.

I've made sure that this is foremost on my day.  without a doubt.  Your uncle sounds a lot like my FH's family, truly wonderful...  such a blessing too.

It really is. My brother has been telling me that throughout the process and I keep justifying additional projects, desires lol.

The most important thing is Mark. I love all the little ideas but I think I'm done now (except for actually printing some stuff already designed LOL) and am just going to enjoy the next couple months and every day I get to spend with him! :)

I second that!  You remember after I saw your civil ceremony I had to let you know that it was just simple and sooooo loving!!  without all the bells and whistles.  Reading that email from your uncle does make you take a step back ..and say...long as I got my love..that's all i need!

Yeah I totally remember, and even before the civil ceremony, you made me so excited for it - you took it from me feeling forced to me feeling ecstatic with your reminders! I just have to stop having wedding envy LOL! I look around at other blogs and I'm like "wow, cool idea" "wow, wish we could do that" - that's just gotta stop! HA! After my last two little projects, I am DONE! And if those don't get done, I don't care anymore!

Hey that's the way to be!!  That's how I'm looking at it now too!  I just think that your civil ceremony was the best!!  And the description of your day, and yall getting dressed in seperate rooms...uhh...I so had a visual as I was reading your blog and everything seemed so intimate!...I loved it...I had chills!  If I could have worked in such a loving ceremony like that...I would have :-)

It was really beautiful and really unexpectedly turned into the best day ever. Marrying Mark is the best thing I have ever done. :) And it didn't matter how it happened, as long as he was standing in front of me, looking so happy and moved to be marrying me - it turned into an amazing experience I will always treasure. :) Thanks so much for making me see that before!

Ah that's so true! My MOH just asked yesterday why I haven't let wedding planning stress turn me into a bridezilla, but I said that simply won't happen....this is only one day/event & it should be a beautiful day that expresses your love & allows loved ones to celebrate with you, not something to look back on & remember all the stress. Thanks for the reminder that all of this busy planning should be kept in perspective. And your uncle was very right, your ceremony was spilling over with contentment & love between you & Mark. So beautiful :)

Thanks alwayshis! Yeah there's no point stressing but either way, it is amazing the attitude that you have and your refusal to let things get to you! It's people like you that have been constantly reminding me to just let stuff go.. it is a HAPPY time. And since our civil ceremony, it's true, I can sit back and relax and enjoy the rest, and it did show me, no frills, bells and whistles needed to have a beautiful day! Can be pouring rain, everyone can be late, doesn't matter.. :)
