Here she comes again - the DIY DUMMY! Wedding program HELP!

So girls, I bought cardstock at Michael's the other day, and then I realized there are like a million different weights.

I am using the cardstock to make our wedding programs. I thought I bought 85 lb. but silly me - it said 65 not 85. I swear I am not always dumb, but get me into anything DIY, total goof. :(

Anyhoo, is this too lightweight for programs? I want mine to look like the ones in the pic. If my cardstock is too light, how thick should it be?

Thanks lovelies and sorry for my ignorance lol

well you need a heavy card stock for programs I found.. otherwise I could see straight through to the paper. However if its a book program. can you put thick cardstock on out and lighter in the middle?

Thanks Charis, I think this is medium weight cardstock. It says 65 lb/176 g/m2 - does that make sense?

176 is great for programs!!!!!!! I used 180 gsm for mine and that was heavy enough! go for it!

Hey Tash- If you are doing a Z-fold/tri-fold or layering the paper into a fan thing or booklet then I think that the 65 is just perfect. You don't want to be too heavy (like a 100 lb.) cause it won't lay or fold correctly.

Found this online from thinkwedding.com: (may help)
http://www.thinkwedding.com/Paper-Programs-About.htm

Paper weights range from 20 to 24 lb. bond, which is used for ordinary paper and suitable for the scroll type and Z-fold type of program, 32 lb bond, a lightweight cover stock suitable for scrolls, booklets, gatefolds and Z-fold programs.  There are two heavier weight papers:  the card stock weight, 64 lb., and the cover stock, 110 lb.  The two heavier weights are not often used for programs, but could possibly be used as a cover for the booklet style of program.
