Help us serve our guests
Hi Ladies! Today's challenge: Mark since we decided to get married, came up with a beautiful idea. He wants to incorporate some way into the wedding that we, as the bride and groom, serve our guests.

When he first said this, my first reaction was "ummm ok why". Know what he said??? (made me feel like a total moron LOLOLOL)

'In the Bible, Jesus is the Son of God and took the time bathe his disciples' feet. Even though he should have been the center of attention, he took it off himself and made others his focus. Also, in the military, the higher ranks serve the lower ranks at the mess dinners to thank them for their efforts. I want to do this to show everyone that came for us that we appreciate them, and that they made us who we are"

Needless to say, I was stunned into silence, felt like a selfish goof and was blown away and impressed by this gesture.

Problem: Implementation
Solution: WBC need your help!

How do we implement this into our wedding day? How do we serve our guests? What do we serve them and when?

I love this idea more than anything we are doing because it is truly from the heart, which weddings are supposed to be about. Please help me do this, for Mark - who so very sweetly wanted to do this, and just cuz now this may be my favourite part of the wedding too!

WOW WOW WOW!
2 days left!
OH BOY! My stomach is in knots. Why am I nervous? Anyone else feel this way?

And this is not even the big wedding where I'm worried about things being there, everyone being on time, etc. I am not even remotely concerned about that one LOL.

I am feeling very nervous about Thursday. It's def not giving up my single status - I want to marry Mark more than anything - but whoa, I cannot control the butterflies - they are more than breakdancing, they're doing Olympic level gymnastics today!

Anyone else feel like this?

They've gotten a little bit better now that Mark is back in Canada and not flying around trying to avoid volcano ash.. but I am still crazy nervous! AAAAAAAAH!

Wedding Cake
Today's treat! Cake Serving Set
I've been eyeing cake serving sets for awhile. I knew it wasn't a totally necessary item, but I thought this could be something we could actually keep and use on birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

So I purchased these today off eBay. I think they're so pretty with their faux pearls inside. They're pretty and modern enough for my taste and I am excited to see them. The eBay seller engraves them for free also so that's a nice bonus :)

Wedding Reception
To cover or not to cover?! Part II
One of my very first posts on WBC was about this subject and I thought the decision was made lol, but it just did not die!

Summary - I don't like chair covers. Mark does. Last week during our wedding detail meeting with the venue, he brought them up again. He likes the uniformity that it brings to the room. They are not included in our package as we're having a buffet and already got a really good deal. Here's the problem - I don't really see the point of them, but he probably really doesn't see the point of alot of the things I have chosen for the wedding like programs, and an aisle runner, and table names, not to mention handmade musical note table name holders hahahahahaha! Sooo... here is my dilemma..

Mark wants chair covers, I don't. He likes the uniformity and thinks our venue chairs are ugly. I think they're fine and I really really don't think anyone will notice anyway. When did I get so anti-detail? LOLOL I am debating thinking I should meet him in the middle although it is really hard for me to think I may have to spend more than $400 on these. OY!

But I am trying to compromise and these stretch ones are nice. They may not fit our banquet chairs as neatly as they fit these chairs though and that is my only concern... but I really don't like the ones in #2 - sorry if anyone does, I'm not trying to be rude at all, they're just not my style!

So we got a couple quotes and the cheapest was for the stretch ones at $360. Which is cheaper than our venue's quote for the satin ones... but will the stretch ones look ok plain or do they have to have the organza sash too?

And bottom line, do I give in and just get the covers? LOLOLOL Ugh, I just feel like they're so unnecessary, but marriage is about compromise after all lol

Weight Loss Update
Size 8 to Size 4!!!
Ok so the transformation in the pics is not quite there yet, but I have to tell you girls, I wore a size 8 dress when I started the Paleo diet almost 5 weeks ago.

Well I was in H&M the other day and fell in love with a dress. And I tried it in an 8, way too big.. I was really happy that I could buy a 6... what happened? Tried on a 6, and still too big... then what?!

I TRIED ON A SIZE 4! I haven't been a size 4 in probably 6 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It fit and it looks good! :) :) :)

OMG, I am so happy. Everything is starting to look better and this dress is super adorable for my bachelorette or shower or whatevs. Just to wear it for Mark around the house LMAO! Whatever! I am just thrilled to be a size 4 :)

Everytime I mention this diet, I need to mention the reason I found it. I love you Nidhal. For much more than this, but this just upped your real estate value on my planet :) You're giving me so much confidence back. I am leaving the big shapeless tops in the drawer and opting to wear my cuter clothes again. I am not yet at my goal, but I am on the cusp and can see it in sight :)

Poem display/Monogram
Thanks mrshtobe! You are a superstar!
So yesterday I posted a question on how to make a monogram as all of ours had our August wedding date lol. This is what happens when you go and get married twice!

Anyway, instead of learning myself, one lovely WBC bride - mrshtobe - graciously offered her services and she came up with this amazing monogram and poem display for me. I absolutely love it!

mrshtobe, thank you darling so very much for taking the time to do this for me! You are wonderful!

I love how the brides on here all help each other :) To mrshtobe, and to all of you, if ever I can return the favour on all the great things you have done and given to me, please let me know! :)

Thanks again mrshtobe! I absolutely love it. I found a frame where this can be displayed in one side and a picture that we take that day on the other. So perfect! :)

Ask a Question
Today is techie day! Monogram?
Hi girls,

So I am trying to create a little sign for the poem that Nidhal suggested we read at the civil ceremony. I'm not good at this DIY stuff and whipping things up lol.

We have some awesome monograms made for us, but they all have the August wedding date LOL.

I'm having a hard time jazzing it up a bit, and figured I would ask all you lovely ladies for help.

How do you make a monogram and make your DIY stuff all fancy with borders and graphics and stuff? I am useless! LOL

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
Do these work girls?
Excuse my messy desk - but I figured why wait!

So, I found the dress. Now jewelery help needed!

So I found this cuff bracelet that def works with the ceremony dress, is it too casual or do I even need to care at this ceremony and just allow myself to rock out a bit lol

Also, I came across these hoops. They're simple, but they're fun.

If not, I have a couple other bracelets that could potentially work - one is a dark grey pearl bracelet mixed with pearls of other colours - very cool bracelet, and the other is a darker silver cuff with almost a filligree pattern flower and one little rhinestone in each flower. Only thing with that one is it's antique silver as opposed to bright like my shoes lol

I will take pics of those later if these are just so-so.

Wedding Dress
Audrey Hepburn meets Rock Star!
Girls girls girls! So I went shopping with one of my girls yesterday and we stumbled on this awesome white dress at Bedo. I was concerned the one I ordered wouldn't come in time, and I bought a back up dress on the weekend at Zara, but this one KICKED ITS BUTT!

I really liked the shoulder detail and I thought it was kinda rock star with the zippers and the waist detail was more of a tailored and classic look - a la Audrey Hepburn or some such lovely lady.. So I couldn't stop looking at it, and figured I would try it on.....

WELL...

I wish Pri could've taken pics, but we were too busy ooohing and aaaahing. It looked amazing on! I will def take pics at a later time but I was so excited to show you girls lol

So there is cool zipper detailing on the shoulder, a cinched waist with a cool detail and the pleats on the dress give such a slimming effect. Both this dress and the diet I have been doing are WORKING!

I love it and if I don't get the other dress in time, and maybe even if I do, I am in loooove with this one! It fits fabulously and it looks really cool.

So, I attached pic of two pairs of shoes that I already have. First shoes are my Guess silver peep toes and second are pewter Carlos santana pumps. I should've tried them on my feet to show you - they are both sexy. But I am leaning towards the peep toes with this dress. And then what jewelry would Audrey Hepburn - the rocker version - wear?! I'm thinking simple earrings so as not to take away from the zipper detail and then chunky bangles/bracelets... Yes?

And then also, do either of these shoes work? Which ones are better?

Help!

Marriage license - Got it!!!!!!!
The butterflies have started!
Went to City Hall at lunch to get our marriage license. As promised, it only took 15 minutes thanks girls. :)

Walking there, walking back, I got tons of butterflies in my stomach. They are dancing in my stomach still as I write this! This just got soooooooooooooo real.

The guy at the desk said "Wow, coming up quick huh? Are you ready?" And then the butterflies started to breakdance and I almost fainted.. lol. In a good way!

Know what just occurred to me though - The only thing better THAN marrying Mark is marrying him twice. :) :) :)
