At the time we were not seeing much of each other due both our work and school schedule. So he called me and said "Let's go on a date this weekend". I agreed of course. So I went to get my hair done and the lady that does my hair said not to worry about the money, she had already been paid. I was freaked out to say the lest. So I called himand he said "Yeah I took care of that for you."
After that I went home got all dolled up! We walked to our table at the Olive Garden, and my whole family was there,a group of my friends, my best friend, her mother,and his family. Confused by this I started asking them why they were there. I got really dumb answers like "We asked him what y'all were doing tonight he said coming here and said we all could come out to eat too."
I knew that didn't sound right so I just stop asking them, and started asking with him. He said something like just order your food we will have our time together. Everyone ordered thier food and ate. Al-Umar then stands up and gives this thoughtful speech. Next thing I know he holds his hand out for mine & gets down on one knee!!!! At that point I was stunned, shocked, & surprised.
All I colud do was cry,I gathered myself as quickly as possible & with ALL MY HEART I SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone started helping me put all the "strange" things/events of the day together. Letting me know the role they played in pulling the wool over my eyes. It was so sweet for them to go to such lengths to keep me from knowing what was going on. Because I'm not one who is easily surprised. Surprises usually do not work on me because I pick up on all the signs, yet this was very unexpected.
My man pulled it off beautifully & I loved it!!!
*** Just a little back story I meet Al-Umar the summer of 1995! We were only kids then of course but he was my first love and I was his. Everyone told us it was "puppy love". But we always said we would get married "someday"day. For us that "someday" has come!***
