Anyone doing a cupcake "cake"?

I saw this and started thinking about moving away from the traditional cakes and doing a cupcake "cake". I was thinking of something a little more "fancy" but this is a general idea. We would still have a small fondant cake for the cutting into, but this looked fun. I can already imagine everyone having green frosted tongues and mouths! Haha!

I'm not doing cupcake cakes im doing mini cakes i love the fondant look so that's what we are doing plus we have 2 layers on top for cutting,,,

we are torn between a mini cake for us with cupcakes or doing a simple cake bar! I love both ideas so much, cupcakes are just so sweet and a perfect portion, whats not to love!

I was thinking about doing different kinds of cupcakes with fillings. My favorite is a spice cake with Baileys Irish Cream filling. Another would be raspberry filling with a lemon cake and such. The top cake for us would be a brownie cake, since we both fell in love with brownies! With a dark cherry filling in the middle. :) Something elegant like the ones in the second picture, first square looked really nice, that or the ones with the shamrocks and edible bling. :)
