The Ultimate Wedding Date
When my FH finally proposed after 4 years of dating (he's my highschool sweetheart) we assumed that we would have a lengthy engagement. We've never been the type to rush anything and that works fine for us!
So, in January of 2008 we were thinking of a 2010 fall wedding leaving us well over 2 years to plan the wedding.
Last August with fall approaching quickly I decided to make a decision on the wedding date. It was originally assumed we would be planning for September or October of 2010. We had tentatively decided on September 18th, 2010. A random Saturday in the middle of September.
Shortly following the summer Olympics I was doing some wedding research and reading of all the couples who were getting married on August 8th, 2008 for the good luck that the date would bring. My FH is a little geeky but he accepts my (uber) geekiness and decided to go along. I wondered what 101010 translated to in binary so a quick formula and TADA...
Many people don't know but it's 'The Answer' (to Life, the Universe and Everything) from Douglas Adam's Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series. This fit us so perfectly, we're both huge fans of the series and have read it many times over. Now I get to have an ultra geeky wedding and a very special day to have it on!
