Wedding Reception - Venue: Back at square one ! - TEXASDIVABRIDE's Purple Wedding by Color Blog

Since my last post ,FH and I sat down and broke the venue that i loved down and its just to steep for our pockets. If you do the math u pay $50 a person for the reception with food and its just not worth what u get. Even if you bring your own cater its $25 a person.So for 200 people you looking at $5,000 for just a venue. But before I made the decesion to look else where. I called the venue to see if they would give us a discount . And they stated that they prices are very fair and we will not be able to lower the price. So today I will be going back to get my $500 holding deposit and continue to look for something more budget friendly.

I'm really considering a hotel, if get more bang for your buck! Atleast they give you a suite for the wedding night.I;m going back down my other fav venues and revisit them .

Aww, I'm sorry you're not having good luck with wedding planning! I agree, that is pretty expensive, I hope things get better for you!

I think sometimes when the vendors know the celebration is a wedding they think that people will pay what they want to have a perfect day, but I'm sure if you look for another venue you'll find a reasonable price which already includes more things for your special day, good luck girl you'll find something bettter!

I'm sorry that you couldn't get you dream venue, hopefully you can get ur deposit back and you will find something else that is more budget friendly

Girl i understand you pain! But here in Houston a hotel wedding and reception is a good deal. I'm not sure what side of town you are on. But look in Crowne Plaza-Westside off 1-10 and hwy 6. They have a very elegant ballroom and they even offer a ceremony option for like 1K.

Thanks actually I have already contacted CP-West, Robert is the best, that reallly where im leaning toward. They packages included hosted bars and a wedding cake. Did you see the atrium area that you could have the ceremony that is do beautiful with the waterfall in the background.I also contacted the CP-DT,Westin and DT. I just don't know about having the wedding DT, the parking is crazy and expensive. I really don't want that added expense of paying for valet for my guest. I wouldn't feel right making them pay for parking . IDK

I even went to your venue, they are really nice,but a bit pricey for my taste. What do you think about the Gallery in the Galleria off Richmond?
