Inexpensive Chandeliers-Where?
Anybody have recommendations where I can find some low price (like less than $40) chandeliers? I want to hang a few in our tent outside & at the ceremony, but dont want to bother spending tons on rentals when I could buy for less & use later in our home. Any suggestions?

Ask a Question
How Long is Too Long?
I ordered some items from a bride who seemed very eager to get rid of her no longer needed wedding items. This was at the beginning of the month. The same day that I ordered, I was told by the seller that my items would be sent out within 24 hours. It never happened. No problem, because I contacted her, & again, she promised to have them sent out in just a couple more days. That never happened.
I hate to be pesty, but you know how it is when you buy something (especially for your wedding), and um....you sorta wanta SEE IT!? Well, yeah...that's me. So, I am not getting into whether the bride is on this forum or not. I am not getting into all of that, because my question is about the issue at hand, not about a particular person. But, I just want to know, what are you all's limitations on how long is too long before you lodge a complaint? My transaction was with Paypal, so I am safe. But if I don't see my items by Monday (considering the fact that items may have been mailed by now...seller is not responding now to my emails or phone calls) I am going to have to take action. Do you have a time limit before you finally take action? P.S. Just a courtesy reminder to Brides & Brides to be: Please be considerate to those you are buying from/selling to. If you want an item, but know you can't afford it, please be upfront with the seller, & maybe the two of you can work out a plan. On the same note, SELLERS, please be sensitive to those who buy your items. Especially used! Most of us are doing our best to come up with money to pay for these things, & it is only decent to send the items out in a timely manner, especially when you have been paid. Otherwise, at least have the decency to simply communicate, & then STICK to your promise of shipment. We all know how it feels to be eager to get your packages in the mail... |

What Are/Aren't You Willing to DIY?
In my usual lurking around the WBC community, lol, I notice comments, suggestions & questions surrounding the big "D" word. Get your mind out of the gutter, I'm talikng about DIY. :)
Sometimes my eyes roll at comments made about how someone isn't willing to pay for quality invitations, would rather DIY, when often times that same bride has splurged in another area, & the money spent on a DIY invite either isn't really saving THAT much money, or ends up looking like a DIY gone bad. And it really isn't so much the opinion that rattles me, but the fact that ppl make comments in posts almost like they gasp at the price someone will spend on their purchase, and yet, they sometimes spend money out the ying yang on a reception hall, a dress of their dreams, a candy buffet, whatever...we all have our "thing", even if it's projects that are inexpensive, but simply add up. I guess I feel like that's the whole point of a budget. You spend within your means, & be proud of it. I actually am a DIY bride in some areas, & I stress some because I know where I'm skilled & where the pros need to come in. I commend every person who at least is willing to try at DIY because in my opinion, it gives such a priceless touch & personalization on your wedding. The things that I am totally willing to DIY are: My bouquet Favor Tags Mens Bouts Newsletters Menus Centerpieces Table Numbers Plan My Own Wedding Things that I am DIY handicapped in are: Aisle Runner My Wedding Day Makeup Invites Placecards I'm sure there's more, but I am drawing a blank! |

Shout Out
To I.P.
Better Known As Irishpocahontas, lol!
If you were a part of her recent post about us Brides not commenting on posts, you will have noticed that there were over 30 responses, & even more views. I've noticed that since then, IrishP has taken the time to reply to each individual who left her a response. Do you realize how selective we are in general just to give a "well done" to someone's DIY project, or something they purchased because their heart was set on it, or simply acknowledge a post because hey...we're on here together as brides, friends, sisters, daughters, mothers, wives, fiance's, whatever....we're alike in so many ways, & all want that acknowledgement from our own. I tend to notice a reply or response to 1-2 ppl on someone's blog, but EVERYBODY? How hospitable!!! Now maybe she hasn't hit every single person & Im getting ahead of myself, but it sure looks like it, & maybe she's making her way to you right now, lol. Anyway, I just wanted to say well done, & I feel the love in this place! Keep it going!! |

Ask a Question
Anyone having a PLAIN aisle runner?
I really, really REALLY love personalized aisle runners, but I want all types of pomanders & candles AND petals along the aisle, & I'm concerned that a painted runner would be too busy with everything else. So...I'm thinking that I'll get a solid gray or silver runner, so that I still have my personality, just toned down.
Any of you doing a solid colored runner? |

Pink & White Stripes
For my Maid of Honor
Here is the dress for our MOH. This is a couple of shades lighter than the vibrant pink we are prodominantly using, so the bouquets will be a deeper pink, like in my main pic photo in bio.
Our BM's will be wearing solid pink dresses. Same style. Dress is available at TJ Formal. It is the Joli 2008 Prom Dress. |

What Bride(s) Get Your Votes???
I am crazy about each & every bride on here. I know that we have the option to select our "faves" & put that on our page, but to step it up, I was thinking about what I like & see in brides here beyond being my "faves". Of course, I don't have room or time to list every single person, but that's where you come in....list your favorite things about your favorite brides....include yourself if you'd like!
Here's my go: Thatpinkbride (MEEEEE): Could care less! Loves style & fashion. Honest. Marta12: The Baddest Chic. Style for Days. Gratefulbride: Motivating, Supporting & Has too many great ideas for her own good. Seems to be so rational & friendly...will have the Bomb wedding & loving marriage. Pinklady: A frickin Qutie pie. Seems like the type of person I'd like to hang with. |

THE Dress!
Signed, Sealed, Being Delivered :)
I've made some progress. Within the last 5 days, James & I have booked the photographer, picked the cake, & I found my dress.
This is a picture of my Jim Hjelm gown. Mine will actually be in White. I love the material, the simplicity & the detailing along the waist. It's perfect. |
