How Are You Paying For It??

My FH and I are 23 and 25, we are paying for our wedding ourselves. Which has its good and bad perks. The good thing is I don't have to argue with anyone about wedding dresses, wedding colors or flowers because we are paying for it and I don't have to gain someone else's approval. The bad part is how much we are spending.. The way I see it is that my FH and I have been through so much in our 9 year relationship we deserve the wedding of our dreams. Yes it's a lot of money for one day, but these are the memories we will carry with us forever. I don't want to NOT do something and then regret it later. My Mom has pitched in with food because she has invited some of her friends and she is also providing transportation for the guests to the wedding. I am appreciative of everything she has done to help us! But beisdes that we aren't getting ANY help whatsoever. In the end though it makes me feel grateful, I know my baby must really love me since he's in this whatever you want babe mentality lol..

We are paying for the bulk of it ourselves, though our parents have brought up helping us out, we are pretty independent! We've actually each picked up extra work to help save up for the wedding

wow, for us traditionally the brides family and the grooms family pay for the wedding and its gonna be like thats for us, but we are working our behinds off to be able to back it up if anything falls through...

we're pretty much on our own.  but we're also older, this is a second marriage for the both of us, and we both have children, so I didn't really expect the traditional "parents pay".  

However, I surely hope at some point soon, they offer their help:-)

We are not paying for the wedding solely by ourselves, but my FH is paying for the bulk of it. My mom is paying for the photographer, cinematographer, and some other things. My FH's family is paying for our honeymoon, DJ, and lighting. My god-mom and my momma are paying for the centerpieces and ceremony decor. I'm taking care of all the little things like invites, escort cards, programs, favors, etc....

We are very fortunate in that both families jumped at the chance to pay before we even said anything. My parents & his parents are going 50/50 & we will also pay certain things & all the extra little things.

He is an only child & I'm the only girl, so it makes the parents happy & were not complaining. :-)

we are paying for the wedding ourselves but my mom is going to pay for my dress and the wedding cakes.

Hi me and my FH are paying for everything on our own we asked our family one time for help we got no response so at the end we can thank ourselves for a nice wedding and they will be wondering why we didn't thank our family but good luck to you and try to do lots of DIY it will save on cost.

I totally can relate to what laurie88 is saying!! Amen to that! We are also paying for everything except the bar. FH mom will be helping us with that. I know its hard to plan a wedding but we can do it!! :)
