every has something to say, but can't offer solutions
Guys please help! I am in los angeles but have chosen to get married in Memphis so that our families can partake in our celebration. The problem is that they only way I will have a chance to pick a location is by word of mouth and by pics and reviews on the internet. The wedding (I pray) will be in May.
There is one location that I absolutely am convinced "looks" like and is financially the best deal for me? Since the wedding is less than a year away would you secure the location now based on word of mouth? I am NOT in the financial position to fly to Memphis for 2days...friday after work to sunday night to scout locations. And to make it worst I have people in my family criticizing my decision to secure this location without seeing it but they are not offering to help buy a plan ticket. What should I do? Say screw you it's my wedding or take their criticism of my decision into consideration? P.S. i'll be going to Memphis in November for thanksgiving but by then...my dream location may be reserved for my perfect day in May. |

I am so beat today, I really don't want to move an inch! In the last 14days I've been in the gym for 7days and went hiking yesterday with my mom. My body is so sore I am to take a bath in epison salt last night. I am not overdoing it, but I think I need to not push so hard. Besides the cardio and weights Im eatting more healthy. Every day during the week I have a bowl of cheerios and 2%milk for breakfast, for lunch I pack my lunch which includes 1 banana, a bag of grapes, a turkey sandwhich on wheat bread and some wheat thins with a bottle of water. For dinner I've had either baked chicken or homemade turkey meat tacos with corn torillas.
I can definitely see a little change, I just pray that I can keep it up. They say a good healthy meal and at least 4days a week of cardio will definitely help you see a difference. Wish me luck guys! |

Blue has been my favorite color since I could remember. My mother used to buy everything in blue for me and red for my sister. As far as I can remember I've wanted to incorporate my favorite color and my favorite sweets into my wedding and reception. I think this tiffany or aqua blue and chocalate are so beautiful, I can't wait to pull these two elements into my big day!

The proposal
Well I said YES! July 12, 2009 my boyfriend of 5 1/2 years proposed and I am so excited to now call him my fiance'. I am still so excited about the proposal I cant stop looking at my ring. We met 5 1/2 yrs ago in college and have been going strong ever since, I can't wait to make it official in 2010.
The proposal was perfect, my fiance took me out to brunch one beautiful Sunny L.A. weekend to our favorite restaurant and on the way home since it was so gorgeous outside he asked me if I'd like him to take me to the beach. So we drove up the coast a little north of Santa Monica and got out to enjoy the sand and the water. After about an hour we decided to head back to the car, about midway between the shore and our car he began to walk a little slower, he told me he was hot and that I was walking too fast. So I slowed down and he began to tell me how much he loved me, how far we've come in the last 5 yrs and how committed he was to me and to this relationship. All of a sudden he stopped walking, held my hand, got down on one knee there on the beach and took out the ring. He said "to show you how committed I am to you, I have something for you". He took the ring out of the black box and placed in on my hand and asked me to marry him, awwwww! I cried all the back to the car, after I said yes that is. Now the planning has begun and I am only 3weeks engaged but already feel like im running a race to pull things together hopefully for May 2010. We both live in L.A. but he's from Memphis and this is where we're planning our wedding, I am slowly but surely learning that planning an out of state wedding is not an easy task. Finding a location that can cater to all of my needs is definitely the route I'm taking to keep my sanity and to stay within budget. |
