popcorn in ball jars
Courtesy of Brides.com daily email:
I know a lot of brides use Ball Jars in their centerpieces & what ever else. I just wanted to share this with everyone because I think it's a really good idea & could probably be done for pretty cheap! Especially if you were having an after Christmas wedding or near Christmas & could find those pop corn tins that have the 3 flavors. Or you could order the popcorn in bulk somewhere online I am sure! Or make your own too I bet! |

Baby Food Jar votive holders
This never even crossed my mind so I figured I'd post it in case someone else can use the idea......it seems like a very good money saver if you have a baby yourself or a friend that has one.
Brides.com Tip of the Day: Glass baby food jars are the perfect size for housing tea light candles -- hang them from tree branches or place them just about anywhere to create a magical glow. |

Wedding Invitation
how ballsy are you?
Wow! So I signed up for the "offbeat bride" rss feed so that I can just scope out some "different" inspiration.
This is by far the craziest STD that I have seen so far on my quest to find wedding stuff online. I cannot imagine grandparents/parents reaction to seeing these come throught he mail! Holy pete! What do you ladies think? Think you could ever send out an STD like this? Here is the link to the original article: http://offbeatbride.com/2010/08/naked-fruit-std-postcard?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+OffbeatBride+%28Offbeat+Bride%29 PS--wow WBC is acting a little crazy w/ popups & stuff. My computer keeps getting stuck & what not...and my little "working' bar keeps filling up & then going away. That really sucks! I'd much rather have banner ads. |

My new obsession.......The knot had a whole "20 new color schemes" thing & while looking at it I found this. I really like it.......
Plus all these colors are so neutral that we could use any actual color as an accent color....red, purple, blue....really anything would match! Well, except browns I think. Wedding Colors: See 20 (New!) Wedding Color Combos I don't know if that's going to work so if not, here is the address you can copy & paste: http://wedding.theknot.com/wedding-planning/choosing-wedding-colors/articles/wedding-color-inspiration-boards.aspx?page=3 Grrrr....the stupid upload thing is not working....again! Yay!! Finally got the uploader to work today! |

beach centerpiece Love the idea of adding my fave Jane Austen or similar books--good table names too although I dont think I'll need that not sure what kind of flowers these are, but 2 or 3 stems a piece shouldn't be that expensive? Love the look of this.....ove the feathers. This is sooo pretty....but pretty typical I think.... more floating candles like the big flower center & then smaller votives surrounding One of our possible venues has a fireplace so this would be nice to decorate that. simple centerpiece The "easy way out" emebellished candle centerpiece.....to me anyways! awesome candle centerpieces
I posted this in another post as well |

centerpiece ideas
Hey ladies!
Here are just some of the pics I've saved that I have seen for centerpieces that I think I could actually DIY for not super expensive. I figured I'm getting quite the collection so I'd better get them all in one place since I have some at work & some at home....etc. etc. Since WBC is pretty much what I sign onto everyday, I figured this would be the best place for a compliation. Please feel free to give your opinions! (Sorry if you can't see them that well...I had to save them to my computer from another site so when I click on them, they are opening very small in the new window...sorry! I found all these pics on "weddingmapper.com". ) |

Ask a Question
best computer program?
Hey Ladies!!
I am starting school (finally--after damn 10 years of trying to get my butt back!) this fall & am about to purchase a new computer so I won't be beating my old slow computer while I am trying to do my online classes. I was wondering if some of you out there who have done DIY invitations & other paper products for your wedding (menus/programs etc.) have any advice on the best computer programs to use for doing this sort of thing. I plan on making all the paper products for my wedding and figured I'd be better off to just get whatever programs I will need now since I am getting the new computer & pretty much building it from scratch I think. I am thinking photoshop (even though I don't know how to actually use this program)........anyone have any other suggestions for me? I'd really appreciate it ladies! Thanks! |

Bridesmaids
dresses that CAN be re-worn/re-worked
Came across this article on Brides' today....wanted to share it in case anyone is trying to come up with bridesmaid's dress ideas that can be worn again by your girls.
I know I have a few dresses just hanging in my closet that I paid over $100 for and have never worn again. What a waste of money.... http://www.brides.com/blogs/aisle-say/2010/07/bridesmaids-revisited.html |

St. Jude--terrific cause--terrific favor
Just came across this as well on FB.
I am a big fan/supporter of St. Jude. I think they do AMAZING things for kids that otherwise wouldn't get adequate care for their illnesses. For any of you who are thinking about doing a charitable favor, check this out. You can still give your guests something tangible and make everyone feel good that they aren't going home with a votive candle or something & are helping kids! ;-) From the St. Jude Website: http://shop.stjude.org/GiftCatalog/shop.do?cID=10255 At St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, we believe all children should have the chance to live long and happy lives. And now couples can join our mission of finding cures and saving children -- by saying "I do" to fighting childhood cancer. We have a unique wedding favor program for brides and grooms to honor their guests with a donation to St. Jude. They may choose from beautiful, personalized honorarium scrolls or bookmarks to remind their friends and loved ones of their special day. The high-quality favors explain that the couple has made a donation to St. Jude on their guests' behalf so that the hospital's groundbreaking research and lifesaving care will continue. Either of these caring keepsakes may be personalized with the bride and groom's names as well as the wedding date. The wedding favors are available by making a donation to St. Jude, and we suggest that couples donate the amount that would have been spent on traditional wedding favors. Couples may also ask guests to make a donation to St. Jude in lieu of a wedding gift. They can even create their own fund page with their story and photo to enable guests to make their donations online. All of these options present an opportunity that is meaningful for the bride and groom, as well as their guests and will help St. Jude save children's lives so they can one day make their own wedding dreams a reality. |

AWESOME SITE for inspiration
Hey Ladies!
I just found a very cool site (I think!). It's actually a shopping site where you can order entire table scapes for a package price (kind of expensive) or you can order stuff singley. There are some nice votive holders & stuff on there for $1/pc. Also, a lot of them are just sooo lovely! YOu can totally get inspired by some of their setups! Ok....well I was going to post some of the pics that i got from the site, but the uploader is totally sucking today so I will have to try to do that later--just go to the site! It's at least worth checking out! Here is the site: http://www.objectsplendor.com/ Found from: mykateparker wedding on Facebook |
