Help me choose a hip loving wedding gown
How bad am I for having a desire to show off my soon-to-be child-bearing hips?
I was looking at various other brides-to-be journals and all that stuff, and getting ideas. I think I'm going to do it in Chicago, but I don't know if I want to foot the bill for a hall (we've already decided on a Church wedding), or have a bash at party central, aka my older sister's house. It's cheaper to do the latter, but people will probably appreciate the former, plus I've found some places that aren't to expensive. But enough about that. Since the wedding is almost three years away, I have a more pressing matter at hand - I'm a plus size bride. I'm a 26 now, but since I'm losing weight due to pregnancy, I'll probably be down to a 22 (my 26s don't fit anymore, sadly). I have always liked my hips. I'm sure if I find that right amount of undergarments (calling the spanx doctor) I can rock it, but should I try. I know that a bride can rock just about anything when she's glowing on her wedding day, but for our wedding in July 2007, my hips were showing - a LOT (didn't help that I gained weight before the big day), but I dunno...I just love these dresses. I might stick with the save a-line anyway. But tell me ladies, what do you think? I'd show you a picture, but I've lost 30 pounds since my wedding day. I no longer have the "tire" in my back, and I definitely am more active. I'll take a picture of me as soon as I can. |

Now who would I be if I didn't give you any eye candy?
My tastes are changing, but I think I found a classic style we can all appreciate it. The first five pictures showcase the outfit that I enjoy the most. It's also the least expensive of the bunch - it's only $280 before shipping costs. That's my kind of outfit. I think I'm just going to wear a birdcage veil with it, as well as a flower kim. Paging Myra Kim! It's simple and elegant, and I realize I am not one for flashiness. Plus, it's cheap! that's a huge plus for me, cheapness. The second dress is a beauty from Eden Bridals. I've always liked Eden - pretty dresses in real sizes. But I gotta say, I like the outfit I picked out even more - and who can deny the price? Leaves me more money to do something else! Too bad it'll be a while before I can shop for baby! |

It's been a while...
...since I've posted here.
I'm so terribly sorry for my absence. I've been focusing on my pregnancy, as well as the legal nightmare known as Canadian immigration. feh. But, I have returned, though, I did have to switch the wedding date. I pushed it back again for two reasons.
*It gives me time to go back to work after my baby is due and get to saving for my special day. *I want to make sure that my bash is pretty awesome bash. *It makes my husband happy. Now, I don't know if I'm going to do it in Chicago, where my family is, or will I need to settle in Prince Rupert. To be fairly honest, Chicago is expensive, but I'm sure I can cut corners. I've been thinking about the things I really want. *My family all together in one place *My pretty dress, and my sisters standing beside me *A Photographer. *Pretty hair and face. *Flowers *I want to try to give my husband is purple tux. Anyway, I've got two years to figure things out, so we'll see. I'm going to try to go back to work in the summer of next year, should my PR be approved (I believe it will be). So, we'll see what happens. Either way, I'm getting my day. Stay tuned for some wedding porn! |

I am still looking at dresses, and I found a doozy of a one by Badgley Mischka Bride I would so have made. So allow me to show you the dress and some bling I would wear with it. Though we'll more than likely have a afternoon ceremony - at a swank hotel. Bring on the bling!

We might have the ceremony a little earlier now, before the baby is born. My husband is still willing to do this for me - I couldn't have asked for anyone better. But if we do it earlier, I'll be in my second trimester when it happens. So i guess I'd better look into maternity gowns...
I found some really nice ones. What do y'all think of them? |

Flower Girls are the cuteness.
My niece Olivia is my obligatory flower girl. I love her to pieces, and she will look just two cute. She'll be seven when we have our wedding, and I want her to look stunning. I have another niece and a cousin who are around the same age, but I don't know if I want them to be flower girls. They have had their time in the limelight, while my niece has been in the shadows. I am willing to shell out big bucks for her dress...well, not really, but I will want her to look nice. I've been looking at some dresses, and found these. What do you think?

This is a gorgeous dress, and for my plus-size figure, it would look stunning. I would have it made in silk sating, and I'm sure it'll look stunning. It's an a-line, it's plus-size friend, and it's drop dead gorgeous. What do you think? Maybe the 2Be Bride dress looks better, but honestly, I like this dress too.

Illinois brides, I need your help.
As I've said before, my husband and I would flove to have our renewal ceremony at this gorgeous place. Now, most of my family lives in the city, and we'd probably have the wedding on a Sunday, but it'll be so worth it - I just have to have this place. Tell me if you've ever been to the Rialto for a wedding, or if you had your wedding there? What was it like? Was is gorgeous? Did people enjoy themselves? Thanks for your help! |

Which one should I choose?
I know I've got two years before the wedding, but that hasn't stopped me from figuring out what dress I'm gonna wear. I'm more than likely going to have my dress custom made, because that's what I've always done. I have my prom dresses made, and I was just gaaww-jus, and because I'm a size 24-26, I'm going to make sure I awesome for my wedding dress.
I know I'll go through a lot of wedding dress seasons or whatever you want to call them before my date, but there are three dresses that have already stood out to me. This number by 2Be Bride I think would fit the Rialto. The Rialto is gorgeous in itself, and I think if you overdue in on the dress, well...it won't be good. But the Lazaro is just awesome. I love the embroidery, and I'm sure I could have it made nicely. I love the veil as well. The Watters Bride is nice, but I think for me, right now, it's between the Lazaro and the 2Be Bride. What do you think? Thanks. |
