Liquor!!!
Open Bar for 250
Ok, so I'm fortunate enough to be having my reception at a place that allows you to bring your own liquor. This is wonderful for our pockets but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how much liquor we will need considering the following:

There will be 250 guests (adults only)

The Bar will be open for 4 hours

Our bar will be limited to Beer, Wine, Light Liquor (maybe Vodka), Dark Liquor (no clue yet), and of course champagne for the toast.

In regards to the Hard liquor there will be 6 different drinks offered 3 light and 3 dark.

Cups will be 5 oz (wine), 8 oz (mixed) and 10 oz. (beer)

So with all of that said I need to know if I should purchase Kegs or beer bottles? How many fifths? How many cases of wine? etc...... I found a few beverage calculators but they all seem either to over or under estimate a great deal.

Any suggestions would help!!

Thanks Ladies!

I think a couple kegs with maybe one 24 for those who like bottled better, I think two each of your hard liquor would work, I guess it really depends on how heavy of drinkers your guests are.

you can usually get 150 cups per keg. Can't go wrong with kegs!! 2 bottles of wine or champagne per table. Plus your mixed drinks

probably tequila... there are not too many popular mixed drinks you can make out of most dark liquors alone

i say kegs for sure

to know how much to buy you guys should sit down and look at what everyone (that you know) drinks and go from there

Liquor drinks generally have 1 1/2  to 2 oz per 8oz drink. Most bars just add 1 oz but at a wedding i would count on the bartender having a heavy pour. If you have a neighborhood bar you fequent I would ask for they're advice, no one knows better than a bar. I would definitely overestimate the beer rather than  the liquour because it's cheaper and it's much better for your guests that insist on driving to finish up on beer than liquor. Advive from a veteteran bartender, I will try to get number of drinks per bottle advice from my old boss.

Here are my 2cents.

Average person will have about 3 mixed drinks. So order enough vodka/gin/rum/tequilla (those are most popular) for 4-5 mixed drinks per person. About 25 bottles with about 1/3 of the total to be vodka since most drinks are made with vodka.

I would get 2 bottles of white and a bottles of red wine per table. About 45-50 bottles.

About 12-13 cases of beer (24 pack).

About 2-3 cases of champagne.

Call around some liquer stores. They will be able to tell you exactly what you need.
