does anyone know how to save damask fonts as pictures to use in open office? I'm trying to design my invitations, but cant find anything that says how to do this =( and the fonts do not show up in open office. Thanks!

Save the dates
This is a possible save the date I designed. It's a diy project with cardstock and I'm making damask print magnets to send with them...it ends up being so much cheaper that way than ordering the std magnets.
What do y'all think of the design? |

blue shoes
So, I really want blue shoes to go with my dress, and was originally thinking like an ice or light blue, but then I found these online for only $30...thats including shipping!! Smallest size they had was a 6 so let's hope I didn't need the 5.5! If they don't end up working for the wedding I can always wear them for something else...can never have too many shoes right??
I really love the polka dots(they are so fun!) and I like that the satin gives a clean, "chic(sheek)" look. I dont like the bow, but was thinking I will see when they come in if I can remove the bow easily and maybe put a small silver rhinestone pin or brooch?? I think these would be fun, but If you read my dress post you know my mom and bm/moh think it is elegant/sophisticated...are these shoes "glam" enough for the dress? Or do they not do it justice? lol Should I keep looking for a more"bridal" shoe? My dress is amazing, and I dont want to do anything that will make it less "elegant" What do y'all think?? update: I added 2pics of the dress =) |

 back front me with top as halter as spaghetti straps It was too small but the girl at the shop did an amazing job helping me to see what it'd look like in my size...thats her in the background =) back...buttons all the way down the train! so pretty!! and beading at the top in the V part! how I like the bustle...showcasing the buttons and looks so clean and nice...I can't wait to wear it again!!! front view closer up of front with beading. and you can see the slight difference in color in the pleats if you look closely          |

I found it!!!! finally!!!
Yay! stress level-decreased =) lol.
It's not either of the 3 i previously posted. Ok, I'll tell y'all the story... Keep in mind that I wasnt planning to be taking pics so I have no makeup and dirty hair lol...so please disregard those when looking =) My grandfather was in town sun/mon and was supposed to leave mon afternoon, but had to leave mon morning instead. So my mom and I went to breakfast and had some time to kill. So I asked her if she wanted to go look at wedding dresses and at first she said no cuz she knew i had a lot to do. (we are moving to AL finally and were loading the uhaul that day!) but i asked her was she sure cuz i wasn't in a hurry, that I'd only tried on a few and was having a hard time deciding. So she said ok and we went to just have fun and try some on...and I found this one by casablanca style# 1908!!! Its amazing and I finally had that this is it feeling...it felt great!!! My mom immediately said she liked it and her word was "elegant". my matron OH said she loved it, it was gorgeous and "so me" and that she was glad i waited, and one of my bm's said it was very sophisticated lol. I wasn't even that excited about it when i got it off the rack either...i was like " yeah, I'll try that one too, it might look good on" It's supposed to be spaghetti straps, but i think im going to wear it as a halter. Had I seen a picture of it, I never would have tried it since its spaghetti strap and low back (I have big breastsand never would have thought this style could work for me) But I loved it! So we ordered it that day and it should be in in about 4 months =D!!! I love all the subtle details like the slightly different coloring in the pleated top area and the beading and silver on the buttons on the train. I cant stop looking at the pictures of it and get so happy when i do! lol |

Wedding Reception
Found the caterer! yay!
I went and taste-tested with Al Amith catering today and all the food was so delicious!! Fiance was sick so he didn't go, but Mrs. Martha sent home lots of stuff for him to try also!!
She said they make everything themselves...even the sauces are from scratch and i got to see where they prepare everything also...it was nice =) defitiely tasted like authentic Louisiana food! lol! That was the most important thing to my fiance is that the food was good, and we definitely hit the nail on the head!! I'm soooo happy!!! Plus, they have catered to our venue before so they already have the setup and everthing down! yay!! Now all we have to decide is what items we want to have a tthe wedding and mail in the deposit... so despite the rehearsal dinner issue, things are still falling into place |

Rehearsal Dinner Guests
So,
every wedding i have ever been in the rehearsal dinner included the bridal party, parents, and grandparents...which is what i wanted...something small and intimate. but, my future in-laws are saying that you are obligated to host the out of town guests also...i think this is ridiculous...i dont want half of my wedding guests at my rehearsal dinner!! I have never heard of doing this...neither has most of my family and friends that have been married. the only instance I have heard of this is with destination weddings, but mine is not...it's not my fault that most of his family is from another state. My fiance's parents are divorced, as are his dads parents, so our list is 50 people with just bridal party, parents and grandparents!!!!!(which is more than i initially wanted anyway) I mean, my three cousins are standing in the wedding, and Im not inviting my aunt and uncle. I dont think its fair to invite his mom's brother and sister because they are "out of town" and not invite all the other aunts and uncles on my side and his dads side.I dont want a lot of people there...there will be so many people at the wedding! I also dont think its right to have half of your wedding guests at your rehearsal dinner...thats what you are having a reception for!!!!!!!!! This link from a bridal etiquette expert says that your rehearsal dinner is supposed to be for those "rehearsing" (I had to take out the link bec it made the blog to wide to read) Am I crazy?? I dont think so!! I am so annoyed/aggravated/upset I am beginning to understand how women turn into bridezillas!!! I want to just scream "I am the bride...this is MY wedding...it should be about what I want, not what the parents want!!!!" for crying out loud, If I were doing what my dad wanted I'd be getting married in my parents back yard in flip flops and jeans. I dont know what to do and really needed to vent....please pleas please give me some feedback on what y'all think of this issue Thanks!! |

found their shoes!!
So, for my girls, I wanted patent peep toe pumps with open arch and I found some this week that were almost exactly what i was looking for at Ross for $15 each!!! yay!! (And they are made by Chinese Laundry...usually a lot more expensive than $15) I love finding good deals!
I originally wanted a 3" heel and not a wedge, but the lower wedge works better anyway since everything for the wedding is outside! So I just bought everyone's sizes just in case they dont have them later =) And i got the fleur de lis paper punch and damask round boxes at hobby lobby...and the girl rang up my boxes wrong so i got 3 for the price of 1!! $5.99 for three boxes...not bad at all!! Don't know what ill use them for yet, but im sure ill figure out something. Plus, I had a phone interview today and will be contacted next week to set up an in-person interview for a job!!!yay!!! (We are moving to near Mobile, AL this week and I have been applying to jobs for months with no luck) And, it's an on-call position, so less money, but I will still have time to work onwedding stuff =) and won't have to put my baby, Cooper(8mos), in day care right away! It has been a good week in general! My mood for the day=optimistic...now i just have to decide on my dress lol |

Wedding Dress
I can't decide!!!! Help!!!
Ok, so I found the simone carvalli dress and fell in love with it...but the least expensive price i found was $1800. I tried this one on through the loaner program (so i had to cram into a size 4, but i still liked it).
the other two are maggie sotterro and i really love them also, and can get either one of them online for around $400. I have tried on the Belle dress and it looked nice, but I havent tried on the gatsby yet. I am leaning toward one of the maggie sotterro'sbecause we are paying for most of the wedding ourselves, and i feel like i could use that money for something else... Plus, my mom thinks that both of those are more "me" because they look like the 20's and I love the 20's. I just haven't had that "omg this is the dress" feeling yet and i am getting discouraged...but i have to order my dress soon to get it in time to do bridal portraits, etc. maybe i will have that feeling when i try on the gatsby dress lol. I want a birdcage veil covering just my eye and flower in my hair also if that helps...I just would love some objective input...thanks so much! I put the pic of my favorite flower up also |

Its been a while sinc i posted anything, so hi everyone! =)
we are in the process of moving and things have been hectic....but i have gotten a few new things over teh last time i posted and wanted to put them up. I got the bm bags at the jewelry show and they have a really cute polka dot interior ($7each!!!) I found these metal black and white letters at micheals for $1 each taht i am using to personalize the girls' bags...I was going to have my mom embroider their initials but shes helping with with so many other things, these were easier! **but I still need an L and K if anyone sees them at your local michaels i will pay for everything if you find them!*** If not, i am going to find something different, but thats cool too the l&m are my maid and matron of honor so it will b alright if they have something different I got the fleur de lis cookie cutters at the jewelry show also...using them for the hotel guest bags and possibly the small ones at the wedding damask picture frames i found at the dollar tree!! yay!! I am going to use them as grandparents gifts and send them a prof pic after the wedding |
