Hurricane Ike went through Beaumont, Texas where I live!!! Our house is fine, and so is my fiance's. I have just been without internet for a little over a week and I have been going crazy!!!! The city is damaged here and there, but everyone is fine. We are back home now and staying at the fiance's house because they have power.

The real news is that we decided to have a destination wedding in Disney World!!! I am soo excited about it and I cant wait to get settled back in from this hurricane crap and start planning everything!!!

So after last nights rampage and me reading what other people have said and what my parents and fiance said, I have decided that I am doing what me and Chris want to do and what will make us happy. This is our day and after I have been thinking about it getting married in that church would not make me happy. Chris and I are both not set on getting married in a church, so I started looking into other venues. So what makes both of us happy is Walt Disney World.

Mine and Chris's relationship is linked to Disney. Throughout our whole dating we have talked about Disney stuff, we love everything Disney, we did the Disney College Program together, we are both cast members there, we got engaged in Disney World. The only logical place to get married would be in Disney. They have several options that are quite expensive but they do have a small intimate affair for 18 people in Disney World. Its called Escape Weddings and includes a small amount of essentials. The cost for the bare minimum is $4,000!!!!

I know that his parents are going to have an issue with this, but its not their wedding. I am not completely throwing out a wedding here, and I am going to check out other places in town, but I am starting to really lean to this Disney wedding.

So Chris and I had already planned on not getting married at the church that I belong to. First of all I haven't been in a super long time because I don't like the priest their and second he is not Catholic. So I didn't feel like dealing with that whole situation about how I am not active enough in the church and how Chris is not Catholic. So we looked into his church which is Methodist. Everything was looking like it was going to work out. I had contacted the lady who helps out with the wedding, the dates that we picked more than likely were going to be opened, me and my mom and Chris's mom are going Monday to meet with the lady at the church....like I said everything was going fine. Until I got home tonight.......

The lady at the church sent me some information about having your wedding at the church. Now I am not sure if its like this for all Methodist churches but their are some rules that I am just not happy with and has turned me off completely and made me really upset. First off is that ALL music has to be approved by the minister!!! THAT INCLUDES CEREMONY MUSIC!! And it also said that the ceremony music has to be Christian music!!!!!!! I am not saying that I was going to have my brides maids walk down the isle to rap, but I wanted soft sweet music, preferably Disney music, but that looks like a no go!!! They are super strict on the decorations for the ceremony, and you can ONLY throw birdseed outside for the send off!!!! There is to be NO flower petals on the floor of the church, so no decorating the walkway!!! You can only use their candles for the ceremony!!!! There is NO alcohol allowed ANYWHERE in the church or the reception site!!!!!!!!! So that means no toasting to the bride and groom with Champagne!!!!!!!! The photographer can only take one picture of me and my dad walking down the isle and the same when me and Chris are walking back down together, I mean come on what is that????? And then it said something about how its an inconvenience for others to take pictures in the bridal suit because the photographer is there trying to take pictures...hello, I think if you were a photographer you would understand that other people want to take pictures of the bride on her wedding day. UGH I AM SOOOOO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sooo disgusted and bitter about this that I don't even want to go Monday to meet with this lady, because I don't want to have my wedding there!!!! I am just so sick its not even funny!!! Why do they have to be so primeval??????? Oh I am just so mad I could spit!!!

So should I just buck up and have the ceremony their and have a reception somewhere else?? I could look into that, I guess. I would just have to deal with the rules of the church. I think whats really bugging me is the reception rules. I want it to be fun and I am afraid that there will be people checking on us to see if our music is the approved kind or if anyone is toasting us with alcohol.

I am just so mad because now I am back to square one and I have no clue where we are going to get married. :o(

Since this whole Hurricane Gustav business has been happening, I haven't been able to get in touch with the lady at the church we are planning on getting married at. We don't have a date set so I am getting frustrated because I want to get the ball rolling on this wedding. It hard to look at caterers, florists, hair/makeup without a date set!!!!!! I am going to give her to Friday to get back in touch with me and then I am going to call her. The evacuation was lifted this morning at 6:00 am, so I am assuming that everyone should be back to work by tomorrow morning. UGH!!! I need a date ASAP!!!!!!!

So I have been hearing about how you can send off a picture of the wedding dress you want and your exact measurements through a website based out of China. Does anyone know what the website and if its legitimate website?? I am weary but excited at the same time b/c that is a whole lot of money I can save!!!!

The dress that I want is a Krisit Kelly design. She takes the Disney Princesses and uses them as her inspiration for the design. If I could get this dress, I wouldn't care about anything else....well maybe thats not true but you guys know that the dress is the major part of all weddings!

If anyone knows what this website is that I have heard about and if they have any experience with it I would love to hear about it!!!

My boyfriend proposed to me on the Wishes Cruise in Walt Disney World, Wednesday August 20th!!!! I had no idea that it was going to happen. Chris told me earlier that day that I was getting a surprise! So we spent some time in the parks and we went back into the hotel for dinner. After dinner we left with Chris's parents to go to the Grand Floridian. I had no clue that was where we were going so I was confused when we arrived at the hotel. At the hotel we meet my parents and my sister, brother, his fiance, and our friend Jessica who were all vacationing with us. We all walked down to the marina and boarded the boat. By now I thought that the cruise around the Seven Seas Lagoon in front of the Magic Kingdom was my big surprise for the night. So we drove around and seeing everything there was to see, we anchored in front of the Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks. I sat on Chris's lap and everyone else sat behind us. I am so naive so I didnt think anything of us having the best view of the fireworks. So the fireworks started and we were all watching them. My favorite part started and Chris whispered in my ear "Do you know what my wish is?" and I asked him what and he said "To spend the rest of my life with you". Next thing I know he was down on one knee asking him to marry me. We both cried and everything was perfect!! Its a night that I will never forget for the rest of my life. Now the planning starts and I am already feeling overwhelmed!!
