WTH ARE PEOPLE THINKING???

SOOOOO...the RSVP's are steadily rolling in...however the invites that we sent out for Mr. & Mrs.....or just Ms. are coming back RSVPing for 4 & 6 people...OMG this is not a free for all.

At this moment we are at 100 people from the RSVP's that we have back so far....ooohhhh did I mention that we still are waiting to receive back over 100 RSVP's...this has me sooooo stressed.

I don't understand how people can be so inconsiderate....I expected that for every invite that I sent out to our single family and friends they would RSVP back with a +1 but +4 & 5 is just completely inconsiderate.

We guaranteed our venue 160 ppl and that is the number that we were comfortable with paying for and is the majority of our budget. I absolutely REFUSE to pay for more!!!!

The cut off for our RSVP's are on the 4th of August...if we are over our 160 ppl on this day....FH and I have discussed calling everyone who has RSVPd over there +1 and advising them that they will only be able to bring 1 additional person with them.

Is this tacky???? What would you all do????

Yep, totally disrespectful.  I don't mean to be tacky, but we did our r.s.v.p's to the addressed envelope as Mr. or Mrs. Mr and Mrs. We actually wrote in the the amount of guests that were allowed for them. We didn't have kids, so that was easy. If they were singe as Ms. we did put down +1, because we know that people don't come alone to weddings, especially an evening wedding. If they were Mr. & Mrs. we put down 2 only. If they so happen to have a college student child, or teenager over 18 we put 3 only. Versa Versa, we controlled the guests.  I don't know what it is, but my sister that got married last year sent hers out to a single woman and she r.s.v.p'd back 8!!!!  WTF????  Yea, totally disrespectful.   It happens, it is your wedidng, I would call the excessive r.s.v.p'd guests and tell them, hey...who are these extra people and would they like to pay for thier meals?  I would, I'm not shy and I don't play that crap. I bet you they will drop them uninvitees.

Luckily we've only encountered this problem with one family (FI's Aunt and Uncle who RSVPed for their son, as well) so far *crosses fingers*, and we have space so it's not that big of a deal. In your case, however, I'd definitely call up the people who have done that, and explain to them nicely, "Sorry, but we have a very limited number of people we can invite.."

Wow you are right, totally inconsiderate. People should know that the invitation is only intended for the people who's names are on the envelope! I don't think its wrong at all to call those people up and tell them they can only invite 1 person. I think it is wrong and rude of them to assume you can pick up the bill for all of the people they want to invite. My RSVPs are starting to come in and so far I haven't had to deal with this issue adn Im really hoping that I wont have to at all!

its not tacky to call! If they really care about you and your big day, and really want to support you then they should be understanding of your budget!

Call those people and ask them if the add on's want to pay and dont feel bad about it! LOL. Its rude for people to consider a wedding as a party for people you likely dont even know. Its not for them to have a ball, its for people to celebrate your union. Im putting max plus 1 only. We are having children but only those from the families.

Thanks ladies.....Fh & I have discussed the matter and we will be calling everyone who RSVP over there +1.....this should be interesting....say a prayer that I don't get to loose with my tongue.
