Im Back! DIY and Pictures
Its been so long since I have posted on here, things have been very busy as we are moving into out new place. I wanted to post some other photos from the wedding, and my favorite items from the wedding, and my DIY projects. Most of the pictures are scans from my proofs still since I am waiting for my cds and album, but its an idea.
Also for anyone who is thinking about having a photobooth at your wedding........DO IT!!!! It was such a hit at our wedding, it was full the entire time, and people just loved it. Make sure you have a prop box, we just went to dollar stores and so on and got funny glasses, hats and boas. It was a huge hit! Also if you are creating DIY projects, even though you might get stressed out with them you will be so greatful you made them after all the compliments you get afterwards. I am still hearing about all my DIY projects. I designed my save the dates, the invitations, the church programs, the favor boxes, favor tags, the cake topper, my card box, the place cards, thank you cards, and so on..........and it was so worth it!!!! |

Its Official....I'm Married!!
Our wedding August 30th, 2008
Well, its been official for 10 days now....We're married!! Everything went great, there were a couple kinks, but very small ones. The ceremony that I was so nervous for because I am not used to be the center of attention was so not worth being nervous over and the reception looked incredible. I was happy how I looked, the photographers were great, the videographer awesome, the photo booth was a HUGE hit that I suggest to everyone who can have one and definately bring props for it! The candy bar was a bigger hit, no one there ever saw this before, and there was a constant line for it. Everyone though the jersey was such a great idea for the guest book. We had and still have so many people coming up to us saying how it was such a unique wedding because everything was so different then what they are used to, which is exactly what we wanted to make it our own.
It was one long couple of days, then off to our Honeymoon in the Cayman Islands which we were alittle stressed thinking we werent going to make it because of the hurricane, but that morning they just started to let flights back in. It was perfect because it wasnt packed, and the day before we left people started coming in heards, so it was perfect for us! The weather was beautiful! Im posting some non-professional pictures taken from my sister and my sister in law for now, and also pictures from the photobooth that was so much fun. Once I get some professional ones back I will post those as well, but its supposed to take 4-6 weeks! P.S.....for all those who have emailed me about the candy buffet sign and other questions the few weeks before the wedding, I promise I will get back to you all and if I dont email me again. Things were alittle hectic before the wedding as Im sure you cn understand, bu I do want to get back to you all!! |

Junior Groomsmen?
is that what you call them?
Ok so I am having my fiance's two neices be junior bridesmaids. They are 8 and 11 years old and there brothers are going to walk down with them, who are also in the wedding and they are the ages of 6 and 13. What do you call the boys? They are too young to be groomsmen I think, but I've never heard of junior groomsmen before either. So what do I call them?

Bridesmaids Jewelry
bought necklaces today!
So I wanted to get the girls jewelry, but I was having such a hard time finding something to match the dresses and look good so I kind of gave up. Well today me and my mother went shopping for other wedding stuff and to try and finish the bridesmaids off, and we went to JCPenny's and I found these. They match perfect and there happen to be only 7 of them, which is the exact amount I needed so it was fate lol. I am giving the junior bridesmaids the last two, then my sister and sister in law the first two, and the middle three to my other bridesmaids, it works out perfect. They are so pretty and sparkly! Now if I could have only afforded the earrings or a bracelet, but I am just going to either get the girls some rhinestone ear rings cheap at claires or just tell them to wear diamonds or rhinestones, which Im sure they all have anyways. I was so happy to get these!

Turquoise shoes
like or hate?
I have been searching for a pair of turquoise shoes to maybe put on for the reception. I already have an ivory pair, but always wanted to do the whole shoe color thing. My ivory pair I have are also Caparros, and just came across these but cant decide if I actually like them or not. Im not crazy about the sequins, but the color is turquoise and would go good I think. What do you think? Has anyone seen any other turquoise shoes, I dont think I have time to get them dyed now.

The ivory shoes are the shoes I have, but I wanted to add a shoe clip on the bow, or even a pin. If i had some sort of turquoise pin on them I wouldnt have to worry about turquoise shoes. Beautiful weather
why not take some pictures?
Well we never got any engagement pictures taken just because we never had time really, and our photography package only had a 15 minute in studio session so we opted for the two free 8x10's from our wedding day instead.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day outside I asked my sister who has a really nice sony digital camera to take some pictures of us, since she always loved photography and I needed a nice picture for our signature frame. Her camera is one of those quick shots, so you dont have to wait to take the next picture, you can just keep snapping. We went to a couple local parks nearby and She ended up taking over 250 pictures,lol. They turned out really nice though so I wanted to post a few. I am using one for the church program to put with our "thank you's" , some for the card box, and then using one for our signature frame at the wedding. |

Wedding Dress

So I went to a fitting today, Im starting late because House of Brides neglected to tell me my dress was ever in since the lady who was working with us is no longer working there. Then they would never return phone calls for weeks to get my alterations done so my sister in law knows this lady from someone from her work who is doing all our alterations. She did my sister in laws dress and lot of bridesmaids from her wedding. She definately knows what shes doing! She also works at a bridal store full time doing alterations, and is doing ours on her own time which means her own pocket cash,lol. I dont need too much done really, just the hem and the bustle, so far that is. Since its a tie back dress It doesnt realy have to be taken in anywhere there because it can become tighter or can be loosened. I am going to have the bustle under, instead of over. I liked the under better because the over seemed to weigh alot and it curved to much over my behind,lol. My next fitting is august 7th, so I will take more pictures. For some reason we neglected to take a front picture with the train. Also the back isnt tied good in the pictures as it could be, we knew we didnt have to worry about it because it fit so we loosened it so I could breath while doing everything else,lol.
Now im not sure what to do with my hair again, Im liking my hair straight (which is how I always wear it ) with this dress and my mother kind of agreed that she wasnt sure if curly hair would look good with the dress, Obviously my hair would still be some kind of hair do and not like it is in the pictures.......I put a picture of my straight hair after I changed from the fitting, then a picture when I took my hair-do down after my wedding shower from a few weeks ago which was curly......... any opinions would be great! I am positive my fiance wont see this because he has no idea about this website, and never searches for anything online unless it has to do with sports or fishing,lol. Everyone else I seriously doubt will see it because they also dont know about this site, they know I blog on a wedding site but dont know th name, and I seriously doubt they will ever google my name,lol. So I think Im safe! :) |

My DIY Week!
My Cake Topper, Unity Candle, Candy Buffet Jars!
So I finished some of my DIY projects including my cake topper, my Unity Candle, and putting the ribbons on my Candy Buffet Jars! It was pretty fun since I enjoy all the crafty aspects of the wedding.
The cake topper I got from http://www.lingsmoment.com/index.php and I got the crystals from www.artbeads.com, I bought the Unity Candle from Joann Fabrics and the ribbons and buckle at Michaels and Joanns. It Sparkles so much, I love it! Most of my candy buffet Jars were bought at Michaels with 50% off coupons, and the rest were bought at Target because I am part of a movi website where you get giftcards for making comments, so I didnt spend my actual money on them making them free! All the ribbons on those were also bought at Michaels and Joann Fabrics. I also got my fabric from www.glicktextiles.com it is Michael Miller's Caribe Disco Dot, I love it!! Its a combination of turquoise, blue, lime, and green 2 inch dots. Im not sure why it photographs like there is yellow in it, but theres not, its a lighter green! I also recieved my cake serving set last week that I ordered from www.juliespracticalart.com. She did a great Job!! Im really happy with everything I have done, and how it all matches up so well! Even the Love is Sweet sign I made matches perfectly. I am so excited to see how it all looks on the wedding day. I am most likely going to have too much candy considering I have candy for each of those jars to fill and more,lol, but it will follow us to the after party! |

My First Wedding Shower
June 29th
My first wedding shower was June 28th with my fiance's family. I was pretty nervous for it because there were alot of people I didnt know, but it turned out to be very nice. It was an Italian Shower, so my fiance was there with me as well, and the men in my and his immediate family. There were about 50-60 people who came. It was different because I never got to open any of the gifts, the bridal party is like an assemly line and they open the gifts and we look at them,lol. So im looking foward to opening my gifts at the next shower! They also did the whole knock on glasses to kiss thing, which I am not used to at a shower. So We mingled, had lunch, cake, and opened gifts then everyone shot out the door, it was pretty amusing actually,lol.
My next shower is next weekend, July 26th which I am looking foward to. It will be much more relaxed and comfortable. Looking foward to it! |

Church Programs?
I had a good experience with vistaprint for my save the dates I ordered and magnets, and a few things non-wedding related I had ordered previous years. I was curious if anyone has ordered their brochures to use as Church Programs? I thought it would be alot less time consuming for myself if I just designed them in photoshop and uploaded my own image since they have templates you can download, then I can match them with my invitations some. I orignally was going to make my own programs, and already have some paper and vellum I bought to use but I just dont think I will have the time to anymore, time is going by so fast! I thought if anything I can use the vellum to make like a pocket for them with a ribbon.
