Red OUCH!!! sunburnt

OUCH!!!
sunburnt

Wow, So I went to the beach on Monday with my mom and Brian. We wanted to escape the smokey air for a few hours. We had a great time body surfing. But then we got home and the color and pain set in.
Im not a happy camper at the moment. And with only 38 days until the wedding I am freaking out that my skin is going to be screwed because of this....I look like a raccoon. Im applying every home sunburn remedy I know of.

Lesson learned..my Irish white ass will stay out of the sun!

lots of lotion, definitely. keep that skin hydrated & moisturized (also make sure you're drinking lots of water!!). that looks painful, and i've experienced painful sunburns (in may i received 2nd degree burns from a sunburn). i think it'll be faded by your wedding, but you will have tan lines.. when the redness fades a bit more - which it should soon - start using self tanner lotions at night to try to blend your skin into one uniform color. otherwise, try to find a tanning location near you that does airbrushed tans - they could help you!

I got really badly burned the first time I went on the tanning bed this year- make sure that whatever you're using to keep moisturized doesn't contain any petrolium or mineral oil and avoid the bottles of aloe from the sunburn section of the grocery store because the alcohol in them dries out the skin even more. I SWEAR by Hawaiian Tropic After Sun Body Butter.... it's AMAZING. Every time I get burned, I apply it 4 or 5 times a day and within a couple of days it's completely gone!! Take a few ibuprofen to ease the pain and keep it constantly moisturized. Good luck!

I have been burned MANY MANY MANY times. I always have a bath with baking soda and oatmeal. Milk works well too (helps to cool the skin and mosturize.  They also make these drinks here that are aloe vera plant based. (green goo basically, but people love them. You could bathe in that as well. Ibuprofen helps with pain. Once you are dry apply aloe vera (straight from the plant is the best)

I agree with kbreunig with self tanners, it will be a good idea to do those first to get an even color, then a spray tan.

Avoid the sun as much as you can till wedding day

ouch! hope you're ok.  don't worry- 38 days is plenty of time for you to fade and you can even out tan lines pretty easily- your face doesn't look like it will have lines anywhere though which is great.  the only real problem will be the tan lines from the bikini but with a bit of luck your dress will cover it.

look after yourself and follow the great advice already given!

I know how painful this can be! The one suggestion I would highly recommend would be Solarcaine-it will be your best friend!
