Wedding Cake
We ordered ours today!
So we met with the bakery today and ordered our cake.
It will be a 4 tier stacked cake. White cake with Raspberry Bavarian Creme filling and butter creme frosting. i dont have an exact pic of it but here are the pics that inspiried our style... so cake1 is the example of how the scrollong florishes will be on the cake but in black frosting. cake 2 is an example of the 4 tiers and the ribbon around the base of each tier in black. Then we will have red roses place on the cake similar to how our cake will be. We have a monogram "F" for the top and also some sparkling cake jewelry that will be placed where the flowers will be. Im super excited and our cake tasting was yummy! |

More DIY
things are coming along
I purchase the scoops from Michaels 3 for $5.99. I tied on the red ribbon and affixed the rhinestone over the knot.
The second picture is of the "love is sweet" poem that will be on the candy table. I have a great frame I bought to put it in. The third photo is of my candy suckers. I have had these Damask wine bottle holders for a few years and was wondering how I could incorporate them into the wedding. Then this past weekend my FMIL was at CVS and bought a ton of Valentines candy that was on sale. One of which were these heart shaped cherry suckers. I had some styrofoam balls left over from my pomanders (pics to follow) so I affixed them to the top of the wine holders and then arranged the suckers much like you would to make a pomander ball. I love how they turned out. The fourth photo is of our bubbles. I bought them from the knot.com and then dressed them up by covering them with damask tape and topping them with a red ribbon. Lastly, though not a DIY, are our personalized matches. I just got them and had to share. Thats it for now, keep up all the good work ladies and I will be sure to post more as I keep the projects coming. |

Candy Buffet Favor Boxes
One of my many DIY projects is finally complete so I thought I would share.
These are the take out boxes I bought. Got them from Smart and Final (50pcs for $4.99) I made 140 total. I used the Damask Tape from one of my vendors, Two's Company, to make a border stripe down the center of the front and back of wach box. I've been using this tape for all kinds of projects and its so much fun. Then I made the labels with Microsoft Publisher printing on Bazzle White paper and using Bazzle Crimson Paper as a backing. They say... Love is Sweet Brian & Leanne October 18,2009 I am very pleased that these plain little boxes now look stylish and chic! I believe that the total cost to purchase the supplies to put these together was about $30. I was looking at some other boxes much smaller and non-personalized that would have cost me about $130. So doing it myself saved me big $$$! |

DIY Wedding
Stuff I have been working on....
Well I finally snapped some photos of my works in progress.
Picture 1- I wanted damask print votives for our table but could not justify the prices I was finding most of them to be. So I bought votive candle holders from ebay and the Two's Company damask print tape from www.organize.com and made my own. I have 70 completed so far 50 to go. NOTE: we are not allowed to use any open flame at our venue so I purchased battery operated candle from www.abcdistributing.com. Picture 2- We are having a candy buffet so I purchased white takeout boxes from Smart and Final ( 50 for $4.99). Again I used the Two's COmpany damask tape to decorate the boxes. I have 50 covered so far about 80 more to go. I am also make a label for the from of the box that says...Love is Sweet Leanne & Brian 10-18-09. Will post pics of the final product when they are done Picture 3 - Here are the jars we are using fo the candy buffet. I bought them all at Home Goods for about $85. I know they are kind of hard to see so I put tissue in them to simulate them being filled. Picture 4 - Just a close up of the jars Picture 5 - Here is a close up of the tags I made the describe what kind of candy each jar holds. Picture 6 - These are two baskets that I found at Ross. $3.00 each. I am going to fill them with toiletries and put these in the guest bathrooms at the reception site. Again I will follow up on photos when I have all the projects complete. I also wanted to let all you damask brides know that if you intend to use the Two's Company Damask tape, it goes a long way. I bought two rolls. I have covered 70 votives, 48 bubble tubes and 50 take out boxes and I have not even finished one roll yet. Not to mention I've wasted some by tearing it or getting it stuck to itself. So if you decide to order dont feel like you have to purchase a ton of it, unles you are really going to be coving alot of surface. I have been pleasantly suprised at how far this wonderful tape has gone for me. |

Candy Buffet
I finally decided...
We are having a candy buffet in lieu of a candy favor at the table.
This weekend I went to Home Goods and SCORED!!! I got 12 glass apopthecary jars in different shapes and sizes for $84.00. Incredible!!! I have been shopping them online and thought I would have to spend a few hundred dollars on them. Needless to say I am happy. There is a website www.candywarehouse.com that sells every kind of cand you can think of. The best part about their site is you can shop by candy color. We have picked out candies in Red, Black & White. The cool thing is that I found out that Candy Warehouse is about 20 minutes away from my house so I can go pick up the candy myself and save on the shipping which would have been sky high. We are having 130 guests and I was told that in order to have enough for each guest we would need about 35- 40lbs. minmum. I am ordering these neat little Euro Bags from Bagsandbows.com. I will be putting our monogram on them to personalize them and this is what everyone will put their candy in. |
