wow are you kidding me!
I was just wondering if anyone else is as shocked as I am about the price of an officiant. I mean I'm still looking but so far the ones I have found are $400 or more. I was completely shocked!!

try looking on craigslist.org
Not sure if they'll have anything in your area, but I found most officiant's charge anywhere from 150-600. I found mine on craigslist and she only charged 150 and she was amazing. I couldn't imagine having gone to anyone else!

isnt that insane!!  i was SO shocked as well when i saw those prices.  We were planning on my FI's second cousin(who's a few yrs older than us, used to be a marriage counselor for his church and is now a principal at a local high school) to marry us.  Before we asked him, I wanted a back up plan in case he said no(he would never say no lol but i was paranoid), thats when i saw those prices! rediculous!! have you decided on what you're gonna do?

I am amazed at the price of everything wedding related...My church cost almost $1,000.  So much for the low-cost wedding.
