So Some of you have emailed me asking where I have been. Thanks for all your concern. I have been dealing with a ton of stress here at the homefront.

My dad got really sick and had a mild heart attack. They took him in and put dye in his heart to see if there was a blockage and there wasn't so they are not sure whats wrong. They are thinking his blood pressure might have gotten so high that it cause the heart attack but he is still having lots of chest pain and seems to be tired all the time. The only reason I am even having a wedding is so my daddy can walk me down the aisle so I'm getting really worried about his health. Not just from the wedding stand point but from the health aspect as well.

Then the house that we are renting.... the landlord calls us the other day and tells us he is giving this house to his daughter and we have 30 days to move. I was shocked and so I started looking around town for houses to rent and lets just say I came home in tears!! Waco has some really bad areas and it seems all the good areas are already rented lol. I have a house to go look at today and I'm hoping it will be nice.

So now the wedding is still on but I'm not holding my breath on it as much as I was before. Everything is kinda happening all at once and I'm freaking out so I'm going to kinda play it by ear. Anyways just thought I would update ya'll! Hope everyones planning is going good. Now I got to go pack! I promise I will get on later and take a look at everyones new ideas and blogs. I miss reading them!!!

I know that it is an old ritual for the groom to ask the brides father for permission and blessings to marry his daughter but I was just wondering how many of ya'lls fiance actually asked your dad before they asked you. My fiance got my ring back but won't give it to me cause he wants to ask my dad for permission first. I think its great that he wants to ask but at the same time I don't think its going to matter wether my dad says yes or no. You know what I mean/? Anyways I was just curious.

Ok so the date has moved up two months now from July 4, 2009 to May 16, 2009. I'm super excited but now I already feel like I'm falling behind in the planning which is frustrating to me. I know I still have plenty of time but I'm soooo trying to not stress right before my wedding so I'm trying to get everything done now.

I've got addresses for almost everyone on my side that I am inviting but Mr. slowpoke fiance is dragging his feet. He says he thinks its to early to get them but my thought is at least if we have them then we know we have them and were not stressing right before time to send out the invitations. Not to mention the ones that are coming from out of town I want to send save the dates to so those will need to be sent out soon. I only have 5 addresses I have to get but he has 14 addresses he needs to get. Some of them work with him so you wonder how hard would that be. He says we should just have one invitation and hang it up in the office for everyone. I say no I think that is tacky and so not personal. What do ya'll think?

Which style of fan do you ladies like more? I'm kinda torn between the two so your input would be great! Thanks so much!

Ok so as those of you who have been following my blog know I have been wanting this dress off of ebay (pic #1) but it was from China and I was worried about ordering it. Well I went on ebay tonight and found a dress very similar and it is from California from an individual who bought it for her wedding and then ended up wearing her mom's dress. So anyways I bought her dress for $160.00. I am soooo excited!! Tell me what you think of the dress. Its pic #2.

Ok our wedding is royal blue with some tan in it and my dress is white. I have been looking at different bouquet ideas and I'm not really sold on any one for sure but the one I really like has hot pink in it and royal blue. Do you think it would be wierd to have hot pink in my bouquet but not any where else in the wedding? The first pic is of the bouquet I'm talking about and then I have put some of the others I have found in the order that I like them. Let me know what ya'll think. Please be honest thanks so much!

Since Scott works out of town and is not home much I have been planning everything myself so far. Today I kinda broke down and told him I needed some input from him. So he sat down with me and we went over the wedding plans. So far he pretty much likes everything I have planned. The only thing that he did say is he decided he wanted to change the date. At first I was a little upset due to I have always wanted to have fireworks at my reception but he made some valid points. One being that July is going to be sooo hot that he is worried that people will not want to stay for the whole reception and will end up leaving early. Also we have some elderly guests such as my grandparents and he is worried that they may get to hot out there or not come at all due to the heat. I really couldn't argue with that point. Another point he made is that Waco has now passed a no firework law so the only fireworks here would be the ones they set off downtown and we wouldn't be able to see them anyways from where our reception is going to be. Which he is right again since we always take the boat out on the lake so we can see the fireworks. And then he also made the point that he was worried since it was a holiday that we would not end up having most of the people there because they would already have plans and then all my hard work and our money would be wasted. Another valid point was the price of the pavillion we are renting. If we have it one the 4th of July like originally planned then we have to rent it for the whole weekend which would be almost $900.00 and if we have it on a non holiday date we don't have to rent it for the whole weekend and can jsut rent it for the day and it would be $250.00 which is a difffernce of about $650.00. Being that we are on such a tight budget this could free up more money for other things. So with all the points he made I finally agreed to change the date so the new date is May 16, 2009.

So here are the things he liked ---

Pic 1 - Pic 4 --- He loved the idea of the tiki torches lining the aisle (it was originally his idea lol) and he like the tiki torches being decorated with shells. He also really like the idea of the bamboo aisle runner -- I talked to a girl who had one at her wedding and she said if you just buy the bamboo blinds and attach them together you can make a long and wide aisle runner. The only thing he didn't care for was pic 4 which instead of the tulle I wanted to use raffia but he made the comment it may tear too easily with the wind and also with the kids so he suggested using a rope instead which I was ok with that.

Pic 6 - He like the idea of having the canopy around the cakes to keep the flies off and also to add to the decoration.

Pic 7 -- He didn't really say much about the toasting glasses but were keeping this idea cause it really fits our theme and I love it!

pic 8 -- the table runner for the food table.

pic 9 -- pic 10 -- he loved loved loved both of these grooms cakes so werew going to see which one our baker will make and how much both are.

pic 11 - pic 13 -- he liked all three of these hairstyles and we found some royal blue rhinestone hair jewlery to put in the back of my hair.

pic 14 - 16 he liked the ide of the message in a bottle and really like the idea of me doing them myself lol.

pic 17 -- he liked the starfish deoration for the poles around the pavillion.

pic 18 - He hated the idea of programs but when I explained to him what would be included in the program and why I thought I wanted them he was cool with it. But instead of the monogram we are going to use the same background that we are using for our invitations or a background with just seashells instead of the monogram.

pic 19 - he thought it was a great idea to use the shell instead of the pillow.

pic 20 -- he liked the idea of the frame for the sand ceramony but he really didn't want a family pic in it but I told him I wasn't budging on that lol.

Pic 21 -- he picked out this one from all the ideas I had for our thank you cards and save the date.

pic 22 -- he liked the blue tablecloths

pic 23 -- he liked the centerpieces

pic 24 -- He actually liked the fans as well and I was shocked on that.

pic 25 -- for these save the dates we are using the pic above and putting shell magnets as the top piece and then the pic hanging from those.

pic 26 -- of course he like the pavillion at the lake

pic 27 -- I found this decoration and like it but his idea is to drap that fish net stuf fromt he cieling and just throw starfish and stuff up there. I'm not sold on that idea at all yet but we'll see.

OMG --- Its really really going to happen!! So we went to the store last night to buy just some basic stuff and while we were out of the house my finace takes me to pick out my engagement ring. I was shocked. I mean I knew we were getting married but I still hadn't gotten my ring yet. I'm so excited!!!! He made it where he is the only one that can pick the ring up (it has to be sized) so I'm wondering if now he is actually going to propse to me in a romantic way later. Hmmm something to wonder but anyways the ring should be ready in 2 - 4 weeks to pick up. I'm super excited!! I will post a pic as soon as it gets back from being sized.

Ok so I was looking at the message in a bottle invitations and was looking at the prices of invitations in general and it dawned on me out of the blue that I am totally having a brain fart lol. Our guest list is at 140 people so I was looking for 140 invitations. Then I realized that not everyone needs an invitation cause alot of them are kids for one and that I will only have to send one per family. I know that this should be obvious but it sure didn't click to me hahaha!! So anyways I thought I would just put this out there so anyone else who is ordering 150 wedding invitations and only needs 55. Wow that will make a big difference in my price now won't it. Can you imagine me making all 150 message in a bottle and then realizing I only need 50 after I'm done OMG I would have been so mad! Ok I'll quit rambling now lol. Anyone else have these brain farts like this?

I found this dress on ebay and fell in love with it for my daughters flower girl dress!

Morgan who is his son and my new stepson will be 18 at the time of the wedding. I thought we would have him tend to the guest sign in book and also the message in a bottle best wishes for the bride and groom table.

My son River who is 10 did not want to be the ring bearer in my wedding as he was in my moms but I wanted him to do something so he said he would like to tend to the gifts and the card table. Heres a pic of him.

My nephew, Kai, will be carrying my rings down the aisle He will be almost 3 at the time of the wedding. And his son (my stepson), Nash, will be carrying his. He will be 3 at the time of the wedding. Heres pics of them.

Heres a pic of our daughter who will be our flower girl. I just had to post a pics lol. She will be a month shy of 2 when we have the wedding.

I'm still not sure on the invitations. I have several I like but none that are just jumping out at me yet. I will be doing these myself so I have just been getting ideas so far. Were going to take a bunch of pics at the lake this weekend so maybe I can find a cool pic we take and make those our invitations we'll see. But I do like the message in a bottle invitations on gemasa7's blog.

For under the pavillion where everyone will be sitting for the ceramony and also for the eating part I was thinking about:

Pic #1 -- maybe these lanterns hanging from the top of the inside of the pavillion. In tan and royal blue

pic #2 -- these starfish and raffia rope decorations hanging from the poles.

Not positive about all this part yet. If you have any ideas let me know.
The pavillion is a lake pavillion with picnic type tables such as pic 3. We are going for a more natural look which is why I am using natural seashells and raffia material rather than tulle.

Pic #1 -- I will have a bamboo isle runner with natural rocks on the edges of it. Similar to this but not exactly.

Pic #2 -- I will have tiki torches like these lining the aisle where I will be walking down only mine will have raffia bows rather than the white like they have.

Pic #3 -- The tiki torches lining the aisle

pic #4 -- I want either plain raffia strung between the tiki torches with raffia bows on the torches or this raffia and shell garland strung between the torches.

Pic #5 -- The raffia or garland will be strung like these between the tiki torches.

Pic #1 - I am wanting Royal blue tablecloths.

Pic #2 - Then we will lay a bamboo fan on top. The plates will not be under the fans as in the pic just the fan laying on the table with the program on top.

pic #3 - These will be our centerpieces. I will be doing these myself. I'm still trying to decide on the sand castles as well on the tables. I would also doing these myself.

Pic #4 - Our programs -- they will be royal blue and white -- these are a do it yourself project that I am working on.

I have decided this is the hairstyle I want only I won't have pink roses. I may use a sea shell clip and have rhinestones throughout my hair instead.

Ok so we have decided on a few things for the wedding finally.

I am still in love with this dress so I guess I'm going to bite the bullet and order it off of ebay.

Ok so i am doing a beach theme and I like the centerpieces in the first picture but I was also thiking about maybe putting those centerpieces in the middle and then sandcastles on the end. Or even the sand castle in the middle and the sea shells and candles on the end. Does anyone know how you would make a sandcastle as a table decoration?

So a friend of mine sent me this site that has some cool ideas for my beach wedding. One of the ideas was to put bottles on the table and have the guests write on pieces of paper wishes for us the bride and groom. I think it would be a really cool idea what do ya'll think?

I have been planning this wedding full force for about a month now and this weekend we bought the first thing. I know our wedding is still a year away but it felt soooo good to buy something finally. We were driving to the lake and saw this garage sale and of course we had to stop --- well we got there and saw this cooler that holds drinks like that would be at a convient store or something and thought it would be perfect for drinks and ice at the wedding. Whoooo hooooo --- Our friends loved it and they are using it for thier wedding this weekend. I will post a pic as soon as we get it back from them. Anyways I just had to share the news.

Just tossing around some ideas for programs

Ok so we were talking about our invitations and wanted something not to formal since we are having a laid back wedding. I came up with these for the wording. Tell me what you think of it:

To all our wild and crazy family and of course our rowdy friends,
Our wish is that you'll join us as our single lives come to an end,
Since the day that we met our lives have been enriched,
So finally we decided its time for us to get hitched,
The celebration will be fun and very casual too,
So wear your shorts and flip flops and bring your swimsuits,
We can't wait, for our two lives to become one,
So please fill out the enclosed card and say that you will come.


and here is the other version

To all our wonderful family and of course our dearest friends,
Our hopes are that you'll join us as our single lives come to an end,
The occasion is purely joyous and very casual too,
So won't you please come join us as we say I do,
We made an invitation list, we did it with much care, So please respond and tell us that you will be able to be here,
First we'll say our wedding vows followed by I do's.
And then we'd like you to join us for the reception too,
Were going to have some Bar B Q and some yummy sides,

So I was in the bathroom giving my daughter a bath and my son got on the computer and was being nosey looking at this site. He noticed the cakes and asked me what are those for (hes 10) I told him at a wedding they have a brides cake and a grooms cake. So he is looking at the grooms cakes and says to me I think you should have a son's cake to and I want that Texas Longhorn one right there. LOL!

Ok so I was thinking since we are doing an outside wedding at the lake that it would be cute to buy a small mesh bag and put little sunscreen bottles in them, some chapstick, maybe a hand fan, and I'm not sure what else. Let me know what you think or if you have better ideas. I don't want to do candy I know that. Ideas ladies please!

I found this today while just searching for other stuff and thought this was really cool the way they stored thier toasting glasses.

I am looking at invitations and so far I really like this one but I am still looking for others that fit more into the royal blue theme.
