Flower girl
My perfect flower girl dress!
I had been looking for something a little more fun and light hearted and stumpled upon this darling dress at Gapkids!
Love love love it! She'll be just over 2 and she is going to look cute as a button! And it was a steal of a deal price wise too! I also have matching ballerina flats and a headband. Too cute! |

Wedding Cake
Our cake
Picked our cake... it will be ivory on the outside and have the hotpink ribbon and bows. SO happy with it!
I am trying to decide what to have on the top... Fresh flowers (hot pink gerberas or anemones) or some sort of topper... Thoughts? |

Honeymoon
Want a honeymoon discount?
Hey Everyone...
My FH works for Sunwing Airlines and thought I would be a helpful WBC Bride and let you all know, if anyone is looking into flying Sunwing for their Honeymoon that we can get you a discount! We all seem to be counting our pennies... and although it isn't an enormous discount, every little bit helps (especially after our weddings!!!) Just email my hubbie to be at: mbowles@flysunwing.com and ask him to add you to the 'Friends and Family' Website! I let him know he might have a bunch of brides bombarding him soon!!! lol Happy Honeymoon Planning! |

DIY Wedding
"Will you be my bridesmaid?" Boxes
I decided to do as a surprise to ask my bridesmaids to be in our wedding. I wanted to stick with the pink and black theme of the wedding, so I purchased boxes in the same colour. I was excited that I was able to find some that had black cocktail length dress (what the girls will be wearing) on the cover too! Inside I put a mini bottle of champagne, chocolates, a little wedding scrapbook, and a "bridal party" pin.
I hand maid cards to match the decor of the wedding, etc with special poems for each of the girls. I gave one to my sister (MOH), and 4 bridesmaids. I also wanted to include my mom, and Mike's mom in the celebration, so I made them boxes too. I found a good poem for mother in law to be, and also to your own mom as you marry. Everyone really liked them and I think they really appreciated the personal touches of making them yourself. Oh yeah, I also included a "Admit One" ticket to the Bridal Show in Toronto, so I took everyone to that to kick off the celebrations :) I had everyone back to our place for dinner and carried on with the pink/black theme! Since we had a girls night, we had ice cream sundaes for dessert with black and pink bridesmaid cookies that I ordered for the night! So fun! |

Engaged in NYC!
Michael proposed in NYC on a carriage ride through Central Park...
We went to New York City for Labour Day weekend, and Mike proposed our first evening there on Aug 28, 2008. We went on a carriage ride through Central Park and Mike proposed at Strawberry Fields. It was beautiful and a surprise, too! We went for a late dinner afterwards at a Cuban restaurant.
A perfect vacation, a wonderful proposal and many great times ahead! We (especially me, I think) are sooooooooooo excited! |
