Wedding Dress
First Fitting
So as you know, I decided at the LAST minute to change my dress. I took my dresses last night to get fitted and the first dress fit perfectly! The second dress is way too big in the bust area. They might have to reconstruct the top of the dress.
After much consideration, I'm not so sure I would order from mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com again. While I still LOVE my second dress, there are several things that I have found that are wrong. First, the seams on the inside of the dress show. Second, the bust is WAY too big. Third, the back closure is not what I requested. I wish I had a little more time to get the problems fixed. |

FI and I have some people that we extremely close to that passed on. As a tribute to them, we are lighting a memorial candle and putting an excerpt in the program. Question is...what do we put in the program? Thanks. I know you guys are tired of me and these programs lol.

Wedding Programs
I am about to start the wedding programs now. We want to have a booklet style program. So far, we are including a pic of us and date, location information on the first page, the wedding ceremony on the 3rd, wedding party on the 4th and excerpt about the Sand ceremony, Memorial candle & Jumping of the Broom on the 5th. I still need to fill 3 more pages. I know I need to do thank you's on one of them.
What all are you including in your programs? Any ideas, what I can put in ours? Thanks in advance. |

A few weeks back, I posted about paper lanterns. I did some research today and found the online store Asainideas.com. They had a really good sale on the paper lanterns. I ordered 10 handfans, a parasol & 18 specialty colored lanterns and spent less than $50 included shipping. I am so excited. For those brides who are looking, try this store.

Wedding Reception
Guest Table Mock-ups
We had our final walk thru with our reception facility this past week. I was so sad to see the money leave my bank account, but everything is set lol. We were short on time, but still managed to do a mini mock set up.
At the last minute, I found out that the florist that we were planning to use wouldn't be able to do the centerpieces that I wanted. I had to call around to find a place that could that would fit in our budget. We decided on Krogers and I loved the arrangement. On the day of, there will be candles on both sides, the tablecloths will be ironed and the ribbons will be centered. We opted not to go with chair covers because the chairs at the venue are navy and that is the color of the chair covers that we would have purchased anyway. What do you think? |

Dress: Please Help!
As I previously posted, I got my dress at a great price, but it is not my dream dress. Well, last night I was shopping with my mom for her mother of the bride dress and I found it...THE dress. I want it so bad. It is only $700 and I have a coupon that will make it $650. I love it so much. My FI said to go ahead and get it b/c he wants me to be happy, but I want to be realistic.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? What did you do? FYI, my wedding is a month away. They have the dress in my size so I can buy it off the rack, and my original dress doesn't fit. The first pics are of the dress I want (it will be in ivory); the second pics are of the dress I have. |

Gifts & RSVP's
We got our first gift and RSVP's. So far, we have recieved 24 RSVP's and only 1 has been a decline. The deadline is December 5th. It feels so real now that ppl are confirming whether or not they are coming.
We also got our first gift. One of our guests bought us a place setting of our fine china. I am so excited. We haven't opened it fully yet, but the packing receipt shows what it is. A thank you note will be written tonight. |

My 2nd dress came in
Several people were waiting to hear my reviews for the Ellanis dress from www.mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com, here's the nitty gritty.
When I started looking for a reception dress, I tried on several at a bridal shop. It was important that I loved my reception dress because I'm not completely in love with my ceremony dress. I knew I wanted a fit and flare gown, as those looked the best on me. I looked high and low for nice fitted dresses on plus brides, but could find nothing. I googled fit and flare and came across the above mentioned site. I called and spoke with the designer, Janet. We talked for about 30 mins. She was very nice and seemed to know what she was talking about. We spoke several times before I decided to order and she answered everytime. That was a plus. When googling the website, I only came across 2 reviews. Both were good, but I was hoping for more than that. I really wanted to know what other bride's experiences had been, but decided to order anyway. I was nervous b/c other online purchasing experiences had been rough so I emailed her every few weeks to check on the progress. We had a minor set back, but the dress still arrived 1 week ahead of schedule. When I received the dress, I was a little disappointed UNTIL I put it on (it was all folded up so I couldn't see the beauty of the dress). The dress looks GORGEOUS on me. My mother even loved it and she is my worst critic. I did not want to take it off. The dress should be in a category called fit, flare & flatter. I cannot stress how good it looks (even on a size 16 woman with curves). I did have 1 issue though. I ordered a corset back, but recieved a zipper back. I'm kind of bummed about that, but I'm gonna see what she can do to fix it. Overall, I would definitely order from them again and refer them to anyone looking to purchase. Pics of me in the dress will have to come after the wedding b/c it's too easy to find on here. For now, enjoy the stock pics again. |
